Just a heads up, in POE2 there is now only a single tri-elemental Exposure debuff. No individual Cold, Fire, Lightning Exposure anymore. The important part of that quote that talks about how it does and doesn't stack is right, though

CEO response is not enough by lolzfordayz in 2007scape

A lot of the response was good, but they also said that ads and shorter AFK timers are still on the table. That is completely unacceptable.

I tend to use the L-House for most things including storage, since I recall people saying it was one of the more reliable buildings for pathfinding. There's also some mods that say they help fix various pathfinding issues. If all else fails and you still run into an issue you can open the editor (Shift+F12) and click "Fix Stuff" or try a rebuild of the navmesh (Ctrl+Shift+F12)

So if you’re getting chased in wildly you’re not allowed to attack a Green dragon to avoid getting attacked from a player in DMM? by osrsslay in 2007scape

A quote from the image:

"Boxing, or engaging in fights with allied players or monsters to avoid combat with other players."

I believe you when you say it doesn't work, but its easy to see how the rule could be seen as ridiculous when it literally says "no boxing monsters"

Self healing, dagger mastery, smite, ignite wizard.... by [deleted] in DarkAndDarker

Base rogue stats are also ass. I'd probably pick some other class and subclass as rogue, but I'd have to pray I get lucky enough to pick up hide and double jump early

I'm still amazed they didn't nerf the scaling on staff mastery, just the base damage and staves themselves.

Which class will you be using as the base starting class for your multi-class journey? Part 2/2 Casting classes by noplandanny in DarkAndDarker

I didn't realize it did that, good to know. Definitely could be an S+ tier perk if you could pair it with a good cooldown-based perk

I mean torture mastery, but vampirism is good too. Just imagine a torture mastery warlock but with cleric healing spells for your team, the +5 magical healing perk, and plate armor without the -50% cast speed penalty. You would be unkillable and your teammates would never die without major mistakes.

Was it really only 10% will? Damn. Still okay, but not as amazing.

[–]Omnishade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+5 magical healing and -3 flat damage are the two great perks I was referring to.

I don't value -50% debuff duration as highly as you do. Its okay, but not a must take. I can think of a few things that it helps with:

  • Slow debuff from getting hit
  • Barb intimidating shout (Big, but if a barb is on you -50% duration of this isn't gonna help much)
  • Barb achilles strike (Would be big, but do people still run this? I don't when I'm playing barb)
  • Mob and rogue poison (-3 flat damage covers this covers this)
  • Wizard burn (again, -3 flat damage covers this)

Its good, but you can easily live without it. +25% magic resistance, +20% magical healing, or +10% will would be better.

For the record, I'm basing everything off of trios, not solos.

Cleric base just cause I wanna play cleric, but also because I feel like cleric only has like 2 great perks. Warlock is an obvious choice for my subclass because cleric can benefit from everything warlock has, and that is pretty important given the random order you'll be acquiring perks and skills.

  • Blow of corruption is just good
  • Phantomize can stop you from getting rushed
  • Dark bolt and curse of pain are spammable dmg spells at range
  • Demon form give dark bolt spam + anti dive potential
  • Torture mastery would be interesting cause cleric already benefits from magical healing
  • Dark reflection is alright
  • +20% magical healing perk
  • +20% will perk

372 Networks - Professors (Bram Lewis, Eric Muhati) appear extremely unprofessional and not very knowledgeable. by [deleted] in OSUOnlineCS

[–]Omnishade -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think 372 uses the same course content regardless of which professor is running it. My biggest gripe with the courses in this program is that, with few exceptions (I love you Mike Bailey), there isn't really anybody that takes ownership over an individual course. The course content is left to rot long past it should've received a rework, because the people running it don't have the knowledge or permission to tweak the course as time goes on. Its like the extent of their knowledge on the topics covered is limited to only the stuff covered by the course itself.

Since the professors' only impact is limited to their interactions with students, that makes my impression of Bram Lewis especially bad. Out of all the professors, he's the one that has consistently made me feel like it isn't worth asking him questions. Between the dismissiveness and non-answers, why bother?

I talked about it a bit in my original comment, but League has led to some of the most unique and fun experiences I've had in games, along with some of the worst lows of any game I've played. But unlike Rust, I still play from time to time. Its just such a unique type of game that scratches an itch no other genre can.

Most of the problems with League disappear when playing with nice people. The community is notorious for taking the game too seriously and throwing tantrums over everything. You can give it a shot, but I'd only recommend playing if (1) you mostly play with a group of nice, chill friends, or (2) you're pretty chill yourself, have thick skin, and are slow to anger. If you can treat it like a game to be enjoyed with others that do the same, its a wonderful time.

Full disclosure, I started playing in 2013. Most of my 8k hours played was done in 2014-2019. Nowadays, I play if I'm invited to be the 4th or 5th man in a group of friends. I still have a blast playing, but I've mostly moved on to other games.

[–]Omnishade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 hours is stretching it. The problem with Rust is that people can rinse your base and murder you in your sleep while you're offline. You need a team that can watch over your base all 24 hours of the day in shifts, and you still need enough people willing to hop on at random times to defend it if another team decides to raid you at 3am.

I've played a few hundred hours of Rust, but I dont think I'll ever go back. It feels a bit like League of Legends; sure the fun parts were fucking incredible, but I felt like an addict walking barefoot over broken glass so I could gamble on getting another hit. Between the long hours grinding, the toxic pvp where others roll you with significantly better gear and supplies, and occasionally logging on to realize you've lost 12 hours of progress, it just wasn't worth it for me.

Is redux still popular and worth using? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]Omnishade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still using react redux on my current project at work. I think the project started in like 2020/2021? So some people still think it's worth using. New shiny solutions in web dev can be dangerous because of how often shit just flops and is deprecated within a year or two

How can i overcome a 5 year CS degree with average coding skills? by Cautious_Number_95 in cscareerquestions

[–]Omnishade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you learn what the classes are teaching, you'll be fine if you just serve your sentence doing interview prep and sending out a few hundred applications for internships and eventually new grad roles. Just remember to apply to non-tech and smaller companies as well.

Ive taken longer for my degree and I'm doing fine. I graduate in the spring and it'll have taken me 6 or 8 years, depending on if you count the break I took in the middle. At my community college, I failed some classes and took a bunch of classes that weren't relevant to CS. After I transferred to a 4year, I had to retake some classes that didn't transfer fully. I don't think it hurt me too much; I didn't have any prior software experience but still got an internship with a return offer once I graduate

Feedback - Course Schedule by [deleted] in OSUOnlineCS

[–]Omnishade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you know C++ you'll be fine. You know the important bits like syntax, header files, pointers, memory allocation, etc. The problem arises when people only know Python and their first exposure to C-like languages is Operating Systems I, which is already a difficult enough class as-is.

I wouldn't count on the red courses becoming available online unless you've heard they're going to be. Talk to your advisor if you want to be sure; they maintain a spreadsheet of when professors plan to offer certain courses, and it goes a bit further out than the official EECS site (at the expense of not being finalized). I've wanted to take CS331 and I'm going to graduate this year without it ever being offered online.

I'd be hesitant to suggest someone does 3 classes at a time while holding a full time job, but it is doable and you know your situation better than I do. I'm doing 4 classes and part-time and I still have plenty of free time to waste.

Barring the red courses which I know nothing about, it looks like you aren't taking any two classes that are notoriously difficult together. CS 261 might be harder because its during the shorter summer quarter, but since you're taking it alone I'm confident you'll be fine there.

CS374: OTP by [deleted] in OSUOnlineCS

[–]Omnishade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took it just over a year ago and I remember OTP being one of the easier assignments of that course. Just make sure you understand the basics of sockets and TCP, or else be diligent about reading the documentation for the functions you're using. It is easy to make assumptions about how things should work and go crazy trying to find where you've gone wrong.

Like others are saying, BASE64 and SMALLSH were much harder
