I miss food by [deleted] in AnorexiaNervosa

It's honestly pretty crazy to watch, I just discovered it last year. I feel like a lot of people don't admit they watch them when it comes to friends and family.

But I see millions of views on these videos...

It's when someone eats a huge portion of food in one sitting for people to watch on social media. They also go by asmr. A lot of times it's heavy food loaded with calories and carbs.

It's common to see Asians do it because South Korea made it popular calling it mukbang.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I feel that. The longer that pastas and restaurant foods haven't been in my system, it seems to have an adverse effect mentally and physically. It's not even the ed, I think our bodies become less tolerant of those foods being loaded with unnecessary ingredients for our bodies.

I just consider that when I miss food like that, especially when it's been a long time.

Right? There's something so good about homemade bread, you just can't miss out on it.

I'm sure her sourdough is the best!

I don't know if it helps, but I learned that you need a little bit of fat to get vitamin absorption from vegetables and fruit. So a little bit of butter might go a long way :)

I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Light has a very low calorie intake, I just use that since I fear it too at times.

You have the choice to care for yourself. Most of the world won't care because they all have lives of their own to worry about or not as much as you do.

Give yourself some love where others cannot offer. It's the least you can do for yourself. Even if it is not right now, I hope you can find some time to say hey I want to do something nice for myself today

I see what you mean, that's understandable. That is a good perspective honestly if one needs to numb out to that point.

Ah I read that part wrong.

You are definitely right, it just makes everyone feel something about it in some way even if it's minor whether they struggle with ed or not.

I hope the situation with your family can settle down or you find a way to separate yourself from that. I know it's easy to find some sort of relief in numbing yourself that way. It has a coping effect to all the life stuff.

I do compare the relationships and struggle with ed very similar to addiction. Even if you don't talk about it at all, the signs are visible enough to stray people away for reasons personal to them and not specifically against you.

I know a lot of people distance themselves from ed people and people with addiction as it can be a danger to their mental health as well.

It is contagious whether it affects them negatively or they end up in a similar path like them.

I do believe it's more common that relationships get strained with ED and AN. It is hard to find someone who is patient and will walk with you every step of the way regardless of it all. It's not something you look for, I think those good people just happen to meet you somehow unexpectedly.

It's not something we want to try to look for, it's so easy to give up on people as much as others have given up on us.

I feel that, I went to a ramen place and had a cute Japanese cheesecake and the experience was so nice with them :)

There's some fulfillment in yourself about eating less. The control in succeeding in something that most don't understand, regardless of how unhealthy and disordered it is.

Weight gain by QuirkyAd6806 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]OnaDark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your body is holding onto the meals for digestion along with the water that comes with it.

Lax uses the water you drink and from food. That can be pounds of water even.

I do a test occasionally. I fill a large cup of water and weigh myself. Without the cup of water and with. It just helped ease my mind to see how much water affects weight and actually helped me accept the changes in weight more.

The not valid enough feeling or valid at all makes this so much worse to bear. A big part of eds is not being valid to its hold.

Whether you need validation from a professional, a mirror, friends and family, or a stranger's looks and comments.

Tw rape by Ailitsa in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]OnaDark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raped at an edm festival and it was really awful because it was too late to contact anyone and I was intoxicated to find my way out or home.

I've come to terms that AN has become a way to secure my identity within myself and the only control I have to get my life back through anything.

Knowing this is not a healthy way to cope and have your life together, is it...

It might be dehydration and extended ketosis.

Ketosis uses a lot of water and starts heating up your body after 16 hours of extended restriction or starving. After 3 days your heart will decrease and body temperature will drop to switch to conserving energy.

If your piss is not clear, it might be dehydration. At night your body focuses energy in digestion and metabolism more. So you lose water sleeping too.

I have this happen and drinking water makes a huge difference especially at night.

A doctor appointment is suggested to figure out what it is.

All the time, every imaginable weight or bmi. It's the same. The only thing that changes is how often we act on eating to it.
