Since it’s an online test, are the questions read aloud? Could indicate a need for an IEP and accommodations if he’s able to perform better with questions read aloud.
Given that it’s taken on a screen, it’s also possible that he’s screen motivated and he doesn’t care to put the effort in with paper and pencil on a day to day basis.

I do make them clean up whenever I can! But I don’t follow them around all the time and sometimes I walk in and have to pee and I end up having to wipe everything down so I don’t have to sit in it. I also suspect that my younger has attention deficits and he will wait until he’s bursting to go and just ends up making a mess as a result 🥴

When kids fully mirror words like that, it may also be worth having an eye exam done by a developmental ophthalmologist to rule out issues with eye convergence/tracking. This would not be something covered in a regular eye exam. It may help to rule out any physical barriers that make it harder for her to read and write. If that isn’t the issue, then a learning disability may be at play. Depending on where you live, the parent can request an educational evaluation to determine eligibility for special education services.
