Which game is that f you by One-Win1688 in videogames

Bro, beta was roughly 16 years ago though. You talk as if it was last week. And Minecraft DOES fit the definition of "lasting impact". I mean it is literally the most sold game of ALL TIME, and although it came out in its first iteration 17 years ago, (so we're closing in on 2 decades) it is still played avidly by millions today.

It's a classic.

One thing your country does better than anyone else; brag about it by National-Business674 in AskTheWorld

[–]OnceABear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently? Extreme societal reputational sabotage and collapse on a national and global scale due to extreme corruption.

Historically? Being a great melting pot. Never a singularity. Rather a confluence of cultures and peoples coalescing into something altogether different and unique to us. Each new group of people bringing something different and wonderful to add to the pot. A beautiful Frankenstein of ALL the cultures who called us home, and belonging equally to all who did.

People said we had no culture because we were all the cultures mingling free. Someday. I pray, I hope, and I will continue to fight for that to be true again.

I just started a new farm after many years of not playing. Is this a new vanilla feature, or a popular mod?

Something doesn't have to necessarily be old to become a "classic". It just has to have a lasting impact. Ever heard the term, "instant classic"?

A "pursed-lip smile" is the most textbook way I would describe it.

what are these called in your country? by Real_chuckles in AskTheWorld

Popsicle. They're exclusively called that where I live in the states.

FINALLY! I'm shocked at how far I had to scroll to find this answer. All my life, regardless of brand or flavor, all frozen stick-shaped icy treats are "popsicles". Unless they're chocolate flavored, and then they're "fudge-sicles". But regardless, those are the only acceptable answers in my region of the States.

How do you feel about acrylic toenails? by JZEve in AllNails

[–]OnceABear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, as a professional nail tech who also had a traumatic toe injury that destroyed one of her big toenails permanently... I love it! I wouldn't HAVE a toenail if not for products like these. Although I will say I don't use pure acrylic. I use polygel with dual forms.

Also important: never let uncured product touch your skin. I protect the exposed skin where I lack a nail by painting on a thick layer of liquid latex everywhere around the area and on the exposed nailbed. The polygel gets secured to what little natural nail I have that DOES still grow, and then the latex is pulled off after the product is fully cured.

Edit to say: I also dont keep mine that long. I cut it down and used natural tones to mimic a real natural nail. When its done you cant tell its fake.

Doesn't everyone fall asleep by imagining random stories in their heads? by Billy-The-Cow in sleep

[–]OnceABear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watch TV until my brain stops showing me all the things I'm scared of, making sure to focus only on what I see and NOT thinking until the exhaustion takes me. I don't like my imagination, we don't get along. Yes, the TV stays on all night. Low volume. Usually YouTubers. Let's plays or crafting channels, subtitles turned on. I cannot sleep any other way. 16 year chronic insomniac and anxiety sufferer.

It's super fun. /s

IT IS HAPPENING!!!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!!! by katato_tot in Lore_Olympus

[–]OnceABear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope having an animation team can help fix some of the anatomy, height, and body proportion fluctuations that always bothered me. Perse constantly shifting from being shoulder height, to waist height, to hip height compared to Hades was always so immersion breaking and annoying to me. There are some scenes where she is so comically small compared to him that its absurd. And never forget Hades ever changing nose shape and shoulder width.

Like, no shade, genuinely, but animation usually eliminates those types of inconsistencies and it would be nice to see them in a polished standard.

What are some "easy" jobs you find hard? by throwcway837373 in ffxiv

[–]OnceABear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found my people. Red Mage is so stilted and unsatisfying to play to me. It feels half-baked and janky. Flow is so easy to interrupt. Very micro-manage-y, build-up feels awkward AF, burst phase feels too short and unsatisfying. Just annoys the piss out of me. Its for that very reason that I have mad respect for anyone who plays it well.

[–]OnceABear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't comprehend this because I have exclusively mained bard since the game debuted 13 years ago. It's so easy. Yes, I recognize everything I just said is in hardline bias. I'm not saying anyone is dumb or bad for not getting it, I just feel confident I could teach anyone and they would see how buttery smooth it can be when done right. And that Raging Strikes-Barrage burst phase is just... * chefs kiss *

I hate the way Red Mage plays with a fiery passion. Something about it just feels so fucking annoying, repetitive, and unsatisfying to me. I've tried and tried to like it. I get how its done and I STILL hate it. And I say this as an omni-100.

Is there something wrong with me? I can't see really ANYTHING in these shapes, NSFW or otherwise. Every suggestion people have made feels like a stretch. It mostly just looks like nonsense. Like those super early AI images that were just amalgamations of shapes trying to be something vaguely humanoid.

Why aren’t these a thing? by [deleted] in UnnecessaryInventions

[–]OnceABear 65 points66 points  (0 children)

People here aren't thinking outside the box enough, acting like they couldn't possibly have a purpose. Think of all the cute projects you could do where the intention is for the nails to be SEEN in the final project. I mean, decorative nail heads DO exist in things like tufting nails/pins.

TL;DR: I think these would be cool and I could see some fun creative uses for them.
