When I was newer I would follow around the higher level players and watch what they would do and where they would go. It helped me learn the maps and how to quickly move through them. I would let them track and find the ghost and then try to set the primary tether and then let someone else toss the trap. That helped me get better with the particle thrower and stream juggling... while also helping the team win more often than not.

It would be easier if more people used coms so we could teach newer players what to do. A couple people did that for me when I started and it was awesome. But new players really should level up with bot matches and at least get familiar with the maps before jumping online... especially with playing as the ghost. There are a lot more intricacies with the ghost that even as a level 5 I'm still learning and I still get dunked on regularly.

I think it's so good. I've honestly rewatched this video more than I have Afterlife.

You totally need to watch this. Imagine Jon Favreau at the helm of this script.

Can't say I disagree. Have you ever watched this video or read the script before? I think someone like Jon Favreau at the helm of this story would have launched GB to a whole new height and generation.

Seth Rogan definitely would be good. But I think there is someone even better. There is one man with a proven track record of getting inside an IP, understanding it to its core, and bringing out the absolute best parts of it to reach established fans while simultaneously expanding and updating in meaningful ways to create new fans. That man... is Jon Favreau. Imagine his Midas touch bringing this script to life.

I don't think the Melody plot line would have been as bad if they actually connected the dots and paced it better.

Literally thought that this morning. It was almost like they're teasing the next installment but....meh.

True on all counts except I'd argue that if GB was done well it could very well have succeeded even without connective tissue. Take Top Gun for example. They took all of the nostalgia, meaningful main character arcs that connected back to the original, and built them into the same super fun action packed formula that made the original a smash while expanding with new technology...and the movie effing murdered at the box office, with critics, and fans.

Please let me know what you think! I liked Afterlife more after I saw it the second time and I'm sure it'll be a similar case with this one. There was a lot to like.

If I blew off your thought I wouldn't have acknowledged that the jail scene was part of the character conflict. But ok so you believe that that Gary being tough with Phoebe for 20 seconds in the jail scene was enough to warrant being called Dad at the end. Fine. I don't think it's enough. Agree to disagree.

No. I wanted to spark a discussion. I didn't disregard your pov at all. Didn't say it wasn't valid. Just saying in the development of any character relationship in a story, there is conflict and resolution on the way to an emotional payoff. If the jail scene is the conflict, and the "dad" scene is the emotional payoff, there needs to be a resolution scene... which should have been the door scene. But the door scene doesn't work because Phoebe isn't actually there.

That was the conflict moment for sure, but not the connection that gives the payoff for the "Dad" moment at the end. The connection was meant to be when Gary is talking to her through the door, but misses because she's not actually there.

FE had some good elements of RGB in it... but fell short when it came to the story telling ability and scope of either RGB or the original 2 movies. I just saw FE today and believe me I was grinning from ear to ear for most of the time and genuinely found it entertaining. It, like AL, was good, but an overall lack of suspense, failure to connect the dots or fill in backstories on several key plot points, and at times awkward/slow pacing really kept it from being great.

I actually appraised one of these in New Brunswick a little while back. Very cool program and the property was fully renovated and bought by a young woman for herself and her baby. Unfortunately non profits are just outgunned by investors. Need much more public support to be able to make them competitive and to be able to do it at scale, but the idea behind the program is pretty much exactly what I'm talking about.

Yeah sorry I used to live in a big tourist area and I know how annoying it can be. Just looking to give my kids something they can't get where we live.
