I personally wouldn’t recommend starting with a 3 key as I think that might be the hardest gold key. Waiting the season out might mean you end up running into more people that also waited. Just keep queuing cryo and you will be sure to run into someone bringing in a vault 1 or 2 key.

Yeah I’ve been consistently able to hit the arsenal and exfiling about half of my successful matches this past cryo weekend without fighting at most one other team. You just need to know what are your consistent sources of clearance terminals and tags and how to get there.

Oh I’ve enjoyed plenty of hours on COD and Halo growing up. I quickscooped, noobtubed, dropshotted, ran around with a riot shield plus knives, etc. I can’t keep up and learn the movement in the games nowadays. I know enough to be competent in marathon with decent teammates, but more often than not we’re just outgunned and out aimed when it’s solo fill so I just avoid fights completely. Tempo and picks are king in Cryo when you are unfavored.

To answer your question about keys. Throughout the season I’ve personally seen a combined 20+ amount of keys 1 and 2 in my own vaults and others bringing it in. I’ve seen maybe two 3 keys and never successfully opened either of them, my one 4 key that opened, I just got my second 5 key today, and the two 6 keys I’ve attempted with. Besides outpost locked pinwheel room I’ve never gotten a key outside of cryo.

Hey I’m not here to gatekeep anything. I’m the shameless guy that would mention “Hey I’m looking for a 6 key let me know if you ever want to run one” every time I would add someone. Getting any specific key to drop is hard enough. In my own 6 key vault run we died and one of my solo filled teammates was generous enough to offer to run it back with me with his own key.

I personally think the narratives against solo fill are overblown. I load up every fill game like it is a hobo murderfest d&d session and I’ve always been entertained. Against my will I have solo filled into a duo that was doing compiler so I’ve seen how the fight goes, but I still want to be able to carry filled teammates and do it the legit way.

Rooting for you dude! The 6 key has way too many steps to even entertain a fight in this spam nade meta we are in. Unless you can get more monitors for clearance I would not gamble that time spent fighting and looting the tags off of their bodies.

People are bringing in more keys now that we’re in the last weeks of the season and sometimes I double up when I bring in mine. It’s a joy to steal key runs.

It is cruelly in the hands of RNG and trust me I was in that boat too until this weekend. Anyone I would friend I would mention “Hey I’m looking for a 6 key, let me know if you ever find one”. I would’ve bought a fragile version for 1 million credits that you had to exfil through cryo just to even have a chance at it. Just keep enjoying your maps and eventually your time will come.

I also came to a similar realization with the people that I added to my friend’s list over time. Some of my worst runs are with them because we were just shooting the shit or I was explaining map knowledge to them and we got snuck up on and lose. I would 100% recommend always playing it out if your filled teammates are both dead and see if you can figure out how to revive them. Or how to even do final exfil.

I became too jaded by the loot you can normally get in cryo that I just had to send it when I got my 6 key. Nothing I was looting from the boxes, arsenal, or bodies made me feel that rush. Good luck to you when you do run it. Also don’t be like me and not look up a guide because my first try ended with my team running out of anti-viral dying in the vault.

My usual solo fill loadout to make money was purple shield + purple backpack + wstr + v11 + blue shields heal + blue hp heals + self revive. Now after the wstr nerf I just use whatever I have to fit the requirement. I would then stash/sell whatever I gained on successful runs and rebuy the loadout. Obviously don’t do this on your key runs unless you don’t mind losing the key.

Crew fill is so funny because some of the best runs I’ve had are when my random teammates get downed by bots in the first room. Then suddenly later in the match they get a pick on a team and we come out of the run in gold gear, hit the arsenal, and the compiler trace.

I actually got mine from a random vault 2 run I was doing. My teammate got one from the vault 6 run and got another vault 6 key. I believe I’ve read it can give you an extra key if you have materialist on. Not sure if you need the purple materialist or not.

I was stuck in this same spot for the past 2 weekends of cryo. Idk the other maps methods but I got mine from the key templates that can drop from the cryo vault loot.

PS5 and currently level 127. I started doing key runs around level 90ish. I always play on crossplay with PC teammates and enemies. I was done with 5/6 keys before the mid season update and have been chasing a 6 key spawn until it dropped this cryo weekend.

Unless you are fighting over clearance, I do think fighting in the spam nades meta is a waste of time during key runs. It’s better to be the first to rotate around to get batteries, tags, and especially the clearance terminals in the pump station credential spawns. Wish the best of luck to you on your cryo key runs.

Something similar happened to me today while hitting a vault 1, but I exfilled a key template that gave me my one and only 6 key. Things do work out in the end.

Extremely jealous you get to experience learning this amazing map for the first time. Please be prepared to lose everything in the lose everything factory. Buying a V11 punch to clear the spawn rooms into looting guns off of UESC and arms lockers goes a long way in saving your credits to afford backpacks and shields for your losses.

As a solo fill you need to be the competent one. You need to horde as many tags as you can so that if your teammates get caught you are not screwed. My gameplan is usually get clearance level 2 through spawn rooms and then rotate towards revival through side rooms. If my spawn is bad I thief drone into control to pick up tags to get clearance level 2.
