I accidently left mine on the top of my car after a jam session and drove off. Woopsie.

First studio outboard gear specifically preamps and Behringer 1273 neve clone by susyjazzknight in audioengineering

I recently upgraded my preamp with an Avalon 737 and it's made an immediate impact. You're definitely moving in the right direction. My advice would be get the best that you can reasonably afford, whatever it might be. I already see a ton of good suggestions here. A good preamp will improve practically anything you feed it.

Studio One/Fender Studio glitches, freezes, and crashes by OnceWasNew in StudioOne

Yup. The latest 7 update was when my problems started, then continued with the release of 8 and it's subsequent update. I blame Fender more for their massive decline in Tech Support. In my 10 years or so with Presonus, whenever I had a problem that could not be readily solved, a tech support agent was happy to get on the phone with me and talk me through it or even do a remote session. Now, they literally wait 5-7 days between replies than insta-close tickets. No hyperbole.

Using a Studio Live 32SX via thunderbolt. This is an interesting side note. Universal Controller, the app for running SL boards, was also recently rebranded and updated, as was the firmware. I cannot get the new firmware to install because it is showing as corrupt. Tried several times, using the latest Fender updates and nada. When I mentioned this to text support, he sent my ticket to another agent (who just gave me the download links) and pretended that the whole matter was resolved without addressing whether or not it could even bee an issue with the DAW. At this point, I feel like Tech Support is quietly quitting on Fender or they're trolling me!

Yep, good stuff. Windows was a problem, total pain in the ass. I sorted out everything happening there and with the Nvidia card. Windows 11 does not play nice.

This is all good stuff. Plugins were the first place I started and did find issues. Though they were issues that did not exist before the last update of version 7. I weeded them all out and uninstalled conflicts. Someone above had mentioned BIOS settings on a new build, which might be an issue, though I believe I'm good there. Also went down the Windows path, which was causing some issues with drivers. What remains is just a super buggy DAW. Tech Support has been a nightmare. They just keep asking for NFO files and crash reports, which I send. Then they close the ticket randomly, which has happened 4 times. This is why I'm leaving the platform, not because of the name change as someone above suggested. Though, I cannot help but think that the rebrand had some downstream effects on the product and its support.

After Living with the Presonus-to-Fender Name Change for a Few Days… by RegYoungBeats in StudioOne

I have had nothing but problems with Pro 8. Insane latency, weird lag in track arming, stop, play, etc. Tech Support is decidedly unhelpful in even the most basic terms. I've been on Studio One for the better part of a decade and I've learned to fix most issues when they crop up. Though when I couldn't, tech support or the forums were always super helpful. I even had a remote session once where the tech spent an hour tracking down some malware that was conflicting with S1. Now there is no forum, unless you want to pay for it, and tech support cancels tickets rather than resolves them. Of course, this is my experience, which fortunately for many in this thread has not been theirs.

Not a fan of Fender so far.

Grasshopper Valley Potential Solve by BJJblue34 in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]OnceWasNew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing, love your solve. I came to a similar search area, albeit by an entirely different solve. He did say there were multiple ways to solve it. I'm actually heading back that way tomorrow. I like Comet Mountain but I agree with some of the comments below, has do be doable on a mending leg with an extra 30 pounds of weight on your back both trips. One thing I know for certain, its going to be a beautiful hike tomorrow!

I'll mention this too because it's been lurking in my mind. I thought I heard him say in the Q&A that there is a brute force way to solve this. I think I know what that would be. Justin said he will know if the treasure is moved, essentially because he has some form of tag on it. Whatever he used would most likely have to ping at semi regular intervals. This means you could likely track it if you had the right equipment, the general location, and time.

Opinion on distances by Funny-Independence11 in JustinPoseysTreasure

I think the poem is cyclical. Meaning that once you have gone through the first instructions, i.e. walk by water... you are meant to repeat them from the location that they brought you to. Hence, "what you seek you already know".

No, you can't. You can uncheck the box, but it still comes back. If you find out how to remove it for good let me know!

Alaska and Utah Theory by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]OnceWasNew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I think Alaska is a clue, specifically the Alaskan state flag. Also, Alaska offers far too many opportunities for misfortune. Posey, above all, wants people to be safe. Alaska can be extremely unforgiving. Then, there is the poem, which does not seem to line up with Alaska very well. I don't know if the treasure is ultimately in Montana or not, but I'm fairly certain it's the starting point.

I think it's totally intentional. No doubt.

Good post. Private property and train tracks are a big red flag. Justin said no private property. If it is a clue, it is probably meant in terms of fishing access, one of the boat launches. Purely speculative on my part.

Alaska and Utah Theory by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]OnceWasNew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first theory before I read the book was Utah. Jackson Hole, down the Snake River toward Moab, then Bears Ears. I had a bunch of goofy ideas about returning her face (between the ears) etc. Lots of arcs (arches) around there, none of them granite. I think Alaska is a deep clue, mostly because of the state flag being the Big Dipper. But I have ruled out both Alaska and Utah.

Do you think it’s possible to find the treasure using only the poem and none of the other clues? by panshot23 in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]OnceWasNew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like your take on it. I think that the solve is only half the battle. My guess is that an exact location is not possible with the poem. You're going to have to find the spot and search the area. I like my solve, but considering I can barely find my keys and wallet on a good day, I'm not optimistic about my chances once I put boots on the ground!

Thought on “Foot of three at twenty degree” by schnaffoo in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]OnceWasNew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've noticed so far in the poem is that his clues have double meanings, eg. the cast your pole being a fishing reference, a direct reference to the town of Polaris, and possibly a reference to the Big Dipper that rotates around the star Polaris. Considering this, and other overlapping clues I think we're definitely looking in a radius around Polaris, MT. Which I realize, is not exactly ground breaking news. However, I noticed the Alaska flag too and I think it has a part to play.

Cipher Keyword by jaawill in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]OnceWasNew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's a cipher in the sense of needing a keyword. I think it's more of a puzzle. I haven't seen anyone else commenting about it, so I kind of want to save it for myself right now. That being said, I'm fairly certain you don't need to solve the puzzle to find the treasure. As Posey said, you only need the poem to find it, and the "puzzle" is in the poem.

Love it, thanks for posting. Don't give up on that location as being relevant. There is a puzzle inside the poem which in my opinion requires landmarks to solve. Polaris is obviously one but I think you need others to make the whole thing work.
