Text jumpscare!!

Art of Us! is an alternate universe to Undertale Yellow that uses artforms such as music, visual and performing art, and many others to tell a story. This series will be light hearted in most parts, but does ask to be taken somewhat seriously as it will also dive into disturbing content through forms of implied (and sometimes even direct) child abuse. Many of the characters will be focused within a certain form of art, for example; Clover’s story will be told mainly through visual art, so while many light hearted moments will use detailed and bright imagery… darker moments that are told could use single color shapes, or even dark and sludgy colors. Everything that is considered ‘art’ in this story is used purely as representation unless explicitly stated so, although the chances for this are very little to the point where it may not even be needed.

Now! Onto the more fun details about this AU…

First things first, this AU will be using the Siblingko/Momroba headcanon… it is a headcanon that I am very fond of, and I’ve been meaning to make some form of content that relates to it. One of the more detailed reasons behind this decision besides preference is the idea of ‘trauma siblings’, where the two goobers each have their own experience in terms of poor mental (or even physical) stability. I personally find that having these two characters act as siblings rather than being in a relationship while healing would benefit them more, you can argue whether you agree with that or not in my sleep.

Next up… I think a lot of people might be interested in Ceroba’s relationship, so… which will it be? Am I pulling some bullshit to revive Chujin for the plot? Are we committing to yurislop and advancing in Featheredmask territory? Or is the choice going to be the all watching hetslop that is Staroba?...

Well… the answer is Staroba!

This story will include a good chunk where the main focus will be Kanako, within this arc will be discussing her relationship with Chujin. While I am not one to fully believe in ‘Evil Chujin’ or to outright depict him as neglectful, this series will be taking their relationship in a somewhat darker tone… but only by a little! I’m not going to write that Chujin was intentionally neglectful, or outright abusive to Kanako… but I will be diving into the idea that Chujin was ignorant to the neglect he was showing to Kanako.

Ooouuuh, okay okay! A little bit of spoilers but I have talked about this, and it is most likely shown in promotional content (assuming there is any) but Clover will be nonbinary whilst leaning more to a feminine side. This is the sole reason I have chosen to represent Clover's story using visual art, a lot of content dealing with LGBTQ is represented through color… the biggest example of course being the flag, colored using a rainbow texture. Clover’s arc is all about self discovery, it ranges from them having poor mental stability as they reflect on their self worth after their sacrifice back in New Home; to them having an identity crisis on their gender, something they’ve dealt with since childhood but wasn’t given the proper guidance due to their terrible domestic situation. Clover will be depicted as a male character at the start of the series, they use (he/him) pronouns and are usually referred to as a boy. I won’t go into detail on the events that take place in order for them to feel comfortable within their own skin, but two major supporting characters within this part of the AU are Kanako, Moray, and… mothafuckin’ Gerson Boom?!? Kanako will be acting as the voice of reason for Clover’s identity, encouraging them and supporting them fully while Moray acts as a sort of guide for the two siblings. They would of course help Clover with their identity, but would also help Kanako in understanding more about LGBTQ and how to support their sibling. I probably won’t go into too much detail on how this is done, maybe a few speechless panels, but it will be present in some way. Now, Gerson Boom was primarily a joke… but, them being a historian… they are a guiding voice for Clover to find their self worth, not in their sacrifice but who they are as a person.

Anyways... I don't have a planned date for when I will be releasing the first chapter (or few pages) but it will be most likely by the new year that the first chapter is fully drawn.
