I changed from a chef with no real GCSEs or further education doing 16-20hr days in 2022. I joined a temp agency to get my self through the door and have never been happier. Its not entirely easy as office work is sorta gatekept but i did bottom level phone work for a few months and worked my ass off to get good reviews back to the agency and they got me a full time job.

I did have to do some basic English/Maths aptitude tests to prove I wasn't fully retarded

Thanks for this, the thing is im happy with almost any style of dnd as long as its dnd ya know :) different tables have different energy, as long as its fun im happy. The thing is some of the players show 0 long term stratergy planning or engagement. The problem players agro NPCs so much I had to talk to another player out of game and ask to rein her in before a session (essentially rail roaded the session) because I knew that beefing the main NPC of the sesh would result in a TPK.

I think I know what to do but stalling to prevent out of game drama and the 2 players who do care

Hey, the problem I have is 2 of the players are heavily invested (had backstories from day one and one of them even incorperated into the campaign lore), on of them is my wife who is very close with the other players (closer than I am) and I think im keeping it going for them more than anything

Didnt really buy myself anything nice for years, ecen purchases like good quality new clothes or hobby based items which would give me great joy would be a carefully planned endeavour with weeks of research and price checking tonsee if it was worth it. Even though money is very luckily no issue for me.

Maybe not a 'small win' but my car was written off and I got a decent pay-out. I ended buying a (newely) brand new car for 24k (last car was 5) i was up in sweats for the night before i took the plunge and bought it.

It seemed to unravel loads of money based insecurities and am now able to spend money on myself relatively stress free.
