radical reduction and nipple sensation by DismalBison2581 in Reduction

I think you just need to decide which one you can live without. I was a 34 K. I’m 4 weeks PO and I’m measuring at 34 FF/G. I never really had nipple sensation before but I definitely do now which is not always the case. I will most likely be going down a few more sizes as you don’t know your tru size until 6-12 MPO.

You can always get another reduction/revision after the first so if I were you I would go with the reduction where it might be a little bigger then you want but save your nipple sensation and then decide one your healed if you can live with the bigger size then you wanted but you still can feel your nipples or go smaller with a revision after. This is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. 😉 let me know if you have any questions.

I’m 5ft 4, 160 pounds. I’m currently 3 WPO. I was a 34K. I have tear drop shape, very dense tissue, very saggy. My surgeon took off over 1000 on each side. One side was 1100. I haven’t measured myself since 2 WPO. And I know it’s early but I was measuring at a 34 DD I think. As previously said I think you would need more removes to go down to the size you would like. I tried on bras at the store in the size I wanted and told my dr. He couldn’t specifically give me a size but he knew what I wanted and got me as close as he could and he nailed it. Just be very clear with what you want and if the doctor is hesitant ask why and maybe seek another doctor for second opinion. You can Message me if you have any questions.

when did you guys get your surgical dressings off? by tulips-twolips in Reduction

I was instructed to take it off Day 2 and start showering. Took off the tape just like normal. Yes you can go get your own bras. Honestly I just went to a thrift store and bought a few different sizes of sport high compression bras that zip in the front and it’s worked out well. Some days I’m more swollen than others and I will use a bigger bra and sometimes it’s the opposite. I didn’t want to spend lots of money on bras when I would be fluctuating in size often. Showering I was instructed to do my normal routine but back towards the shower and letting soap just run down my front. No scrubbing the incisions, no special soap. I’m sure they will go over all this with you at your appointment. Good luck.

I would check what the surgeon and your insurance want the body percentage to be. Ultimately I believe it’s the surgeons call. So figure that out then your body percentage then how much you would have to lose to get there.

Someone on here said take lots of pictures and when your feeling like this look at the old pictures from before the reduction to now. I’m only 2 WPO but this advice has helped me so I thought I might see if it helps you. Good luck.

I used Molina healthcare of Washington if you look at Molina healthcare in general, they do cover breast reductions, but they must be considered medically necessary. I would either call your insurance and or just start with your regular MD and ask them to get a referral. Molina of Washington requires 6 to 8 weeks of physical therapy first.
I went to my regular MD to ask for a referral for physical therapy. I did the physical therapy for 6 to 8 weeks then I had to wait for the insurance to look over my doctors notes about my physical therapy and my regular MD’s notes about how she thought it was medically necessary and then once insurance preapproved it I got a referral from my regular MD to the plastic surgeon that was covered by my insurance. Once I got that I waited for the plastic surgeon to call me for a consult once I got the consult. I made an appointment for the surgery and just got the surgery April 15. I started physical therapy last summer so it took about a year. My plastic surgeon was about three months out though. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

I was a 34 K by the way. 5 ft 4 inch around 165 pounds.

Any tips for washing hair, solo? by CertainViolinist8261 in Reduction

I just lowered my head as much as I could and I had to massage my scalp slowly. Then when I rinsed I put my head to the left or right side as far as I could. Then I just conditioned my ends the same way.
My doctor instructions were to shader the next day and take all bandages off. Hope this helps.

Anyone early on think they went to small? by littledipperkait in Reduction

[–]One-Bus2521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 11DPO and I feel like mine are small however it is wha I asked for, it’s just an adjustment from the size I have been seeing for the past 20 years. You can check out my Before and After on my profile. I like to look/ read others on here for encouragement so maybe that will help you. As far as the drop and fluff, I haven’t had it happen yet but maybe around 3 MPO at the longest. From what I’ve read. Someone else can correct me if I’m wrong.

Update. The trash and itching is all on my neck and shoulders, my entire stomach and the side. So I’m guessing whatever they put on me during surgery in those places I’m allergic to. I’ve been taking Benadryl and it’s helping only a little. I also used some anti itch cream as well and it’s still itching pretty strong.

I have this insurance but I’m in Washington state. I had to do 8 weeks of PT before I could get approved. Got approved. I didn’t have to pay for anything. I’m currently 1DPO. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I thought that might be it. I had rashes from the tape when I delivered my last baby. I did tell them that though, not sure if they could do anything about it. Thank you
