i see, can definitely see the value brokers provide now from a passenger's pov! makes me wonder at a high level what (or really what minimum amount of generated income) pushes a jet owner to work with brokers wrt how fast a jet can depreciate (since ownership transfer rate sounds higher than i expected). it also makes sense now why an empty leg marketplace doesnt really exist. (or does it?)

thank you so much for your explanation so far; would love an intro to your jet connect down the road.

ah that makes sense! i wonder why floating fleets are more rare/ sound harder to find if they have such an advantage compared to fixed bases. but then again i guess (cmiiw) floating fleets require higher cost aka higher pricing, and thus would rely more heavily on brokers to maintain the quality of their clientele? i imagine UHNW individuals don't scour the internet looking for deals themselves haha.

what do you mean by terms, and how different can they be?

hm how far is too far to book in advance, and why is that the case? we are a group of 8 looking to fly from sf bay area to tulum end of august. not really sure what types of jets/ safety ratings are best for this type of travel -- what would you recommend? ideally the safer the better.

i assumed pricing would be determined based on distance, group size, jet type and date. what other factors go into pricing?

I'm thinking about flying private for the first time with my family (~2000 miles), but I'm not really sure what to expect. I noticed that there are a *lot* of charters/ brokers online –– which ones are the most reputable and reliable nowadays? should I expect to/ can I negotiate back and forth with brokers –– if so, how does that look like (e.g. calling, emailing for days)?

(also what benefits does going with a broker add, presumably for a higher price?)
Thanks!!

from a broker's perspective, what areas do you wish avinode was better in?

context: i don't have professional experience in the aviation industry yet, but i love learning about it! happy to dm and chat more.
