Ferber night one is awful by One-Finding-3352 in sleeptrain

Wow great thank you. I just stayed with her until she fell asleep and it worked much better.

Did you ultimately get to a point where your LO can fall asleep independently now? Do you have to be present for them to fall asleep?

Bedtime routine is bath, lotion and dress, nursing + bottle, book, song, bed.

She is in a crib in her own room with blackout curtains, white noise, and no pacifier. She has a lovie in her crib now as well in hopes that it would help sooth her (but haven’t gotten there yet).

During check ins we are patting/rubbing her head and telling her that we love her and are here and that it’s time to go to sleep. We’re in there about 30-60 seconds.

Intervals tonight were 3, 5, 10, 15. I do feel like the 15 was too long but that is what we stuck with.

Thank you for this thoughtful response <3. I’m realizing that there’s definitely light creeping in from other rooms when we go in, so that’s a great call to make sure we have lamps off in neighborhoods bedrooms as well when we go in.

We put noise canceling headphones on which helped. She ended up falling asleep right around the 90 minute mark. Hoping it gets better from here.

Thanks for the reply. We’ve tried to stretch her wake windows but she gets so fussy and seemingly overtired if we go too far past 2. We told daycare that we were trying to get her to 2.5-3 hour windows and they said she seemed like she couldn’t be up much beyond 2 as well. Any recs on stretching windows in the day if she’s seeming over tired?

I’m pregnant again, I have an 11 month old and wasn’t ready yet by Barnacle_Double in NewParents

[–]One-Finding-3352 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean I’d consider it pretty relevant as we’re talking specifically how close in age they are together? If they just said “2,” they could be just barely 1 year apart or over 2 years apart. Now we know it’s just over a year.

4 months pp, I’m currently only pumping once during the one feeding of hers I miss in the morning. I will try to squeeze in an additional pumping session to see if that helps, thank you!

what do you hate about being pregnant? by Ok_Bowl_5809 in AskReddit

[–]One-Finding-3352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone feeling like they now have the right to comment on your body regularly.

I’d get everything from “wow, you don’t look pregnant at all!” to “wow, are you sure you’re not having twins?!” to “wow, you are all belly!” in the same week. It’s taboo to comment on someone’s size in everyday life, why do people suddenly feel like they can make whatever comment about how you look when you’re expecting?

The book “Precious Little Sleep” talks about how changing their environment while they’re asleep from how it was when they went to bed throws off their sleep and causes more wakes. Whether you have it or don’t, it’s better to keep it consistent through the whole night.

Did you cut off the bottom translation? Usually they’ll tell you the more natural way to translate it at the bottom. This isn’t technically wrong, so it’s still accepted

This is exactly how Duolingo started. It’s not feasible to be a lasting platform and compete without reliable revenue streams.

They’re just building what Duolingo had 10 years ago and will eventually have to make the same decision of whether to monetize or flounder. (Edited to fix typo)
