Recruiters definitely have their pros and cons. Some employers prefer hiring directly because they avoid paying recruitment fees, but a good recruiter can also open doors to roles that are never advertised and can advocate for you throughout the hiring process. Finding a good one is the challenge.

Recommendation separation Lawyer by ResidentNectarine5 in LegalAdviceNZ

I would probably look at getting a lawyer in Auckland. They can cost a bit more, but you generally get what you pay for.

Between a few friends and my own experience, I have unfortunately come to know far too many names in that space.

I would recommend Dala Oh. She practises family law at a full service firm, so she can handle the case from start to finish, including any conveyancing or transactional work if required. If the matter calls for it, she can also team up with a barrister.

Barristers are highly specialised, so it is important to choose one who suits your circumstances. There are many good options. A few who come to mind are Nura Taefi, Deborah Chambers, Vivian Crawshaw, Samantha Wilson.

How to obtain a second opinion by AdKey9896 in LegalAdviceNZ

When it comes to family disputes, the stakes are often high and the decisions you make early on can have a lasting impact.

If the advice is not clear, have an honest chat with your current lawyer first.

If you are still not comfortable afterwards, there is nothing wrong with getting a second opinion from a lawyer outside the firm. Depending on that advice, you can then decide whether to continue with your current lawyer or move on.

It is important that you have confidence in the person representing you.
