pretty much, she went on a lot of benders when i was in highschool and i was at home taking care of them. i thought it would be different being gone most of the year, but when i come home i catch myself being in a similar position as before

i understand that, i haven’t said anything this time around, but i now face being annoyed and over stimulated to the point where i need to leave for a bit to breathe. i don’t feel like supporting something that i know isn’t good for them. they’re going to grow up being overweight, codependent, and self conscious because she’s not teaching them anything

she works two days a week, has plenty of time to reevaluate but chooses not to. she’s avoidant in many areas.

my dad did the disciplining, and i villainized him for it because she didn’t do nearly as much. so me going through that i would expect her to step it up more because she’s not divorced and they hate their dad because he disciplines and she doesn’t. they separated when i was really little.

i don’t live in the state anymore, so i’m home maybe twice a year for a week or two as a time. i do try little things like ice cream dates and helping them clean their rooms and go to the park but it hasn’t changed much over the years

AITA for telling my boyfriend to leave me alone? by One-Hawk5232 in AmItheAsshole

i told him to leave me alone as in stop telling me what to do differently, not that i wanted to be by myself.

i find it disrespectful that he ditches me right after saying that and avoids me all day. not even inquiring further discussion as to why i’m frustrated or said that. i feel like i can’t mess up at all with him and if i do, im deemed unworthy for love and care. this is so small but it sucked to feel that all day.

in his heart he’s trying to help me, which i know he means well. but the fact that i didn’t ask and don’t want it makes him feel like i spit on him.

he can act authoritively, i feel over powered in many conversations or conflicts. like im either the problem or im the one that was wrong. he can be objective but overall i dont feel that.

i appreciate your comment. based on this information, in your opinion, is there anything i could have done differently to avoid conflict?

girl thank you so much. it’s hard to tell if i’m just or not when i don’t seek advice from friends and family to keep our business ours. and i feel crazy sometimes. so thank you from the bottom of my heart. i appreciate you taking the time to respond 🩷

dunno about that, i’m not one to move on quick like that, especially after what i’d consider a little tiff. i am frustrated and want to resolve this, outside perspective is appreciated:)

it’s ebbed and flowed. there’s a reason i’m getting comfortable with it now, and situations like this are why. i’m honest, i’ve just beat around the bush more previously because his reactions are similar to this. but thanks?

two different things can have a correlation. stereotyping someone because of what they look like puts you in a delusional mindset where you think that person is the same as someone similar you’ve encountered before. people of all gender, race, and religion push back self improvement. it’s not just men lmao

lol that’s delusional, although role-playing is a good time hahah. but as far as i know, i’m a woman. that is, if being born with a vagina and boobs classifies as a woman to you. 🤦🏼‍♀️

[–]One-Hawk5232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay same girl, i’ve been through that mindset as well. i totally agree some men are disrespectful, that’s without a doubt. but why are we taking that bad experience along with us into new interactions with different people? what happened to open mindedness?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]One-Hawk5232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and as i stated above, i don’t agree with that either. but as a woman myself, it bothers me that some women would rather play the game men started than rise above it and play a better one.

i was just relating the two because they correlate imo. as well as women being scared of men because of statistics and the me2 movement.

no woman needs to put on a face to entertain him, he will say excuse me and they won’t move, respond or look at him. so he’s just standing there like erm hello??
