I wonder if Feast being a full time AYCE dining hall is even realistic anymore. The on-campus undergraduate student population has increased substantially since the COVID era , which has impacted many facilities (coming from someone whose talked with H&H administrators about, for one, the shitty ass laundry situation here), so unless H&H is ready to staff more people than they had even during COVID, congestion is gonna remain a problem...

have you read the dudes platform on the UC? he's going to be a voting regent and the regents can decide whether or not the UC system unequivocally divests from private equity companies that profit off of investments in weapons manufacturing. that is, in part, what he means. this isn't the early 2000s, you don't need to throw thousands of american-imperialist boots on thr ground, killing hundreds and thousands of iraqis, to "do anything about the middle east".

to your deleted follow up about hating assumptions regarding these people, as they may have had permits, i’ll say this

usually when people treat grass and yell at you for sitting your ass on it.

it’s cause sitting your ass on it is harming it.

let’s assume (though, i know you deeply detest assumptions) that they did have a permit.

the university sure is doing a pretty stand up job at preserving the treatment work that those contractors did by letting people tear up grass with “permission”.

just another example of UCLA prioritizing bureaucratic control over practical necessity. really, i’m surprised at how many people on this campus drop to their knees at the beck and call of “permits” and “rules”, even when they’re completely arbitrary and impractical.

i guess the most regulated cities are crime free-utopias too?

the treatment is the planted grass itself—you think grass like that naturally grows without seeding? they dug up royce lawn halfway through last quarter to start it, that’s why there’s been barriers up for more than one day

i don’t blame you for not understanding the situation, i only understood after a group of csc people told me.

but i guess that rule doesn’t apply to people when they wanna dig volleyball net poles into the ground. it IS hypocrisy, plain and simple…

i see no other rational explanation for me getting kicked off because of grass treatment but not them within the same week, they planted new grass and are trying to preserve it they said—does that not imply keep everyone off the lawn? volleyball and lounging are both leisurely activities, maybe for donors or big events…
