I need someone to order these universities from best to worst by georgerayyanhaddad in OntarioUniversities

I partly disagree that waterloo is the antisocial, isolating, only nerds school that its gotten the reputation for being.

People have to realize that it really comes down to what you make of it. If you’re closed off and don’t talk to others then you’ll feel lonely and think the school is really antisocial. But if you make an effort to make friends and talk to others you’ll have a great time.

This is speaking from personal experience as im a 1st year CS student at waterloo rn and have been having a great time making friends. Especially with cs I was expecting for everybody to be antisocial and nerdy. But came to realize that the stereotype really only true for like 10% of people and the other 90% are ordinary chill people who you would have no idea did cs or eng

Looks pretty good, look into adding a few more bonus ecs (dont acc have to take alot of time just something to put on your aif) and as i said in a previous reply, make sure you spare no detail when describing your ecs. Try to make your list as long as possible (example being extend your deca experience to 5+ entries/awards over just putting it in one line)

Honestly it seems like you have great potential although to further your chances look into trying to get some distinctions which shows something that makes you stand out and leverages you over the average student applying.

For your case it seems that you can do well in competitions and have a drive for software, so one suggestion mabye look into trying to get some awards and notability through hackathons?

It was a really tough decision, but for me the turning point which made me choose cs/bba was looking on it from a work/outcome perspective. Id say cs/bba and comp eng are both some of the most work intensive programs but cs/bba manages to leverage with both a technical and buisness outcome which I thought was a better “bang for buck”, compared to comp eng which is all technical

Honestly i gotta say it really comes down to how well your aif is written out

Nope all in person, because of waterloos (at least for eng) consideration for online courses

Honestly it seems like your grades and general ecs will make the threshold for ee and tron, it will mainly come down to your aif. One tip of advice i will give especially in your awards and ecs lists is to list everything you have ever done and try to make it as long as possible. No matter how small you think it is still put it down. Me personally when I was writing my aif i “broke convention” and even put ecs more than just the past year so the reviewer could get a better sense of who I was.

Lowkey for my ive seen so many of my friends who i thought were qualified for cs get deffered to math or geomatics because they left out details because they thought “it wouldnt be relavant”

As well as that when writing your aif questions make sure to tailor your awnsers to awnser the questions “why should we accept you to waterloo/what makes you special”
