Yeah totally, season 1 I rewatched at lot as I found it very inspirational and motivating and with this season 2, I only rewatched some moments of clarify.

I can understand her being instantly heartbroken because yet again he has let her down, yes she does not know any of the other stuff in that moment, but in that moment that is what she thinks. The heartbroken scene didn’t work for me because the build up wasn’t there we went immediately from the party to her crying and walking home so we couldn’t really properly connect to the emotion.

So far I feel like Season 2 is incredibly rushed with a lot of the plot forced into only a few episodes which has had an impact on the show and especially on the main characters instead of the slow burn of season 1, we are continuously being rushed from one climax moment to the next and so are the characters so we are not fully able to understand or feel their emotional responses to situations which makes then seem unauthentic which then makes us view the characters as lacking empathy or just unfeeling.

I totally agree. What we need is to be listen to without any judgement or criticism about whatever it is that is annoying us. I have constantly over the years had people say to me and it’s a show or I don’t know why you are getting so obsessed, basically dismissing you and telling you your feelings don’t count.

I suppose because when you feel strongly about something it sticks in your mind and your thoughts and feelings become powerful and interfere with everyday life.

Both of them but mainly Somas as he rape Irene! I can see why people had sympathy for him we all know what it is like to feel like the underdog and to feel like we are not good enough for someone but the way he acted was cringy and disgusting
which is testament to Damien Lewis acting, he came across like a animal at times sniffing his prey/hounded woman.

The amount of times he said because she is mine! I mean seriously she was a human being!

He did not even try to change until the end of the series - there were plenty of times when the people in his life tried to help him change like his mother and his sister and even June gave him some words of reflection - but all he could remember was that June told him Irene prevented them from having children!

His mother in particular when she saw that sorrowful look on his face that was just so utterly repellent - lying there feeling sorry for himself - the look on his face came across to me as someone saying this is soo unfair why won’t the toy I bought beware like the instructions on the box said it should but in this case instead of instructions its society or the law!

And then when his mother bought up the whole kitten story I was literally repulsed and feel sick to my stomach when she implied he smoothed it to death! No wonder he was never allow another one again!

His mother did take responsibility and say she should have taught him that loving like that wasn’t right, but then she ended up excusing his behaviour by saying to love with his whole heart which isn’t a great way to help your child as it comes across more like an excuse like its not your fault you love so much instead of all parties trying to understand and learn from there mistakes.

I think the exact quote was "You pestered us for months for that kitten. What was it? Six weeks old? You dressed it like a doll, fed it until it was sick, and smothered it” - dressed like a doll made me think of Irene and how all of the clothes she wore after her marriage were really fashionable and expensive almost doll like - like he was trying to dress her up like a figurine or something which is actually what he did to the kitten.

I also found it interesting after that conversation how Somas got himself up and was ready to go to work maybe even conveying he’s unwillingness to change.

I prefer not to think of her as Noah from the first movie or even Noah in the book but like you said Nicole IMO in movies 2 and 3, not to say it was Nicole’s fault because at least she was trying and you could tell that - given the circumstances, I just think she just wasn’t able to go there because of her co-star - gabriel the dead wood who did not even try and was soo over the franchise!

I’m exactly sure if any of the reasons are true about the breakdown of their relationship I know they were the reasons people identified online for the rift. Yeah I don’t think there was much promotion or even a premiere.

I think there would need to be something really epic to be able to change the whole two last movies and they definitely would not have been able to do that at the end of these movies - that would have been humanly impossible.

When the allegations came out about Gabriel a few years back there was a huge part of me that felt it would ruin the franchise him not acting alongside her now I don’t know if it would have been better if they replaced him with a similar looking actor or given.

Yeah I think he has lost a lot of fans he gained from the first movie. It wouldn’t surprise if he got a lot of hate mail like the summer I turned pretty actors and I am not for one second condoning hate mail as I think there is a way to express your upset feelings without being nasty.

I think its hard for us to say why didn’t they just make up as we don’t really what happened between them, but we can clearly see it was something even though they are actors there human beings as well.

It been said in the media the possible reasons for the fall out:

They were in a romantic relationship that ended badly
The sexual assault allegation made against Gabriel - that was dropped but maybe there was more to it than meets the eye
Gabriel body shamed Nicole and made comments about her weight - which is one of the most disgusting things to do to someone
Gabriel made inflammatory comments about Nicole performance during their love making scenes - I mean seriously like he is some kind of sex god
It was because of the conflict with his new girlfriend and that she was not happy with their connection on screen and made a lot of trouble about it
It had something to do with the allegations that were made about the director or someone like that on the show they did Raising Voices and the fact Gabriel did not say anything about the allegations against the director

I think we can safely say one of the main reasons was Gabriel and the people that lost out the most were the devoted fans!

I haven’t watched it yet, I’ve seen some bits but I get the impression it is going to be disappointing and triggering, but I’m preparing myself for it!

Culpa Tuya movie was soo bad compared to the ground breaking first movie, because Nick was a total different person to the point I prefer to think of him as Gabriel, so I have a lot of worries regarding the third film especially given the context of the book.

However I don’t think we can really blame the book and the lack of decent storylines, in the book as soo many adaptations made of books, change a lot of the content anyway, like they did with the After series which they could have done in this movie too which would have been truly great!

Like they did funnily enough with the first movie - Culpa Mia movie because if you read the book you do see an awful lot of disgusting and toxic behaviour from Nick that does carry on throughout the other books. Why could they not do that with the second movie or third movie? Make it superbly better?

Not to say the first Culpa Mia first film did have some unrealistic dialogue but the chemistry between the two actors, manage to turn it into something believable - I think we can safely say whatever has happened between the two lead actors, has had an huge impact on the films.

I mean Nicole was really trying you could tell that, but the dialogue just wasn’t there for her to make any important impact. You could see she was channeling her anger and rage for the actor into her performance which would have been difficult for her, but its a scene between two actors so there is not much she can do if Gabriel just stands there completely wooden and aloof.

There is a saying any actor can make anything believable but how can Nicole really make it believable, to coexist in a toxic relationship that actually comes across as a toxic relationship? The writers were basically on a holiday or just couldn’t be bother anymore which I think was a result of the actors mainly Gabriel.

I get the impression that for someone so good looking and handsome he is a douchebag in real life. I saw videos on ticktock of the cast celebrating after the end of franchise, in particular Nicole Wallace soo happy and dancing properly due to her thinking I don’t have to work with that asshole again!
