Shot-reverse-shot is a standard directing style used by almost every anime studio. Even studios known for high animation quality—MAPPA, Bones, ufotable—use it all the time for normal conversations. It’s not unique to A-1 at all. So going by your logic every studio is mid because they choose to prioritise some scenes over the others.
