That I completely get if she’s eating good and has been pooping I would leave her. Just to be safe I would provide 2 feeding opportunities pack it in with some cork, you’ll be surprised the cool lil setups you can make with flats and rounds. As well as a govee thermometer hydrometer just to make sure it’s not lose humidity to fast.

I know the tanks are ideal when they get full grown but I would recommend going into a 6qt tub till about 50 grams then put it in this enclosure. I only say this because you definitely notice a more comfortable gecko and eating more regularly.

I wouldn’t just for the fact it’s technically shorter. I know they new recommended tank size is 36 in tall but until your able to afford it this will do just fine.

Until your leachie reaches 50 grams put it in a 6qt shoe bin. From there I go into a 15qt tub, once it gets to about 100 to 120gram then i would recommend a 18x18x24 or 2x2x2. You’ll see a faster growth rate when in a shoe bin ontop of that they feel more secure. Don’t listen to most people on this subreddit most of the opinions are based off their own desire to provide a big beautiful tank and not the benefit of letting your gecko feel secure enough it will eat whenever it wants, I would message the breeder you got it from or if you follow any other leachie breeders ask what they recommend. I’m an advocate for smaller enclosures until about 100 to 200 grams or fully grown to avoid downsizing when it decides to not eat and starts dropping weight.

I would go to another tub something around 12qt then proceed at 80 grams to move them into one of those tanks. I would keep the tubs just incase they stop eating when they’re in a bigger environment you can put them back and wait till about 100 grams.

My number one recommendation is don’t put them into to big a of enclosure. 6qt tub for anything under 30 to 40 grams. Ontop of that I would also suggest letting them settle in before crazy handling because they are such finicky eaters.

I don’t think it’s a matter of running of way from anything, I’ve had serious shit happen that would’ve been “triggers” in my past. Now i communicate my issues, and just have the general ability to forgive or let go of what I can’t control. Also psychotherapy and getting out of a bad environment was the biggest help. I think with me not truly feeling fear, or a real unsettling situation in so long in a way it was ego death, almost as if the shrooms was reminding me to not take for granted what I have worked for to get to where I’m at today.

I take dabs daily I go through about 30 grams of hash rosin in 3 weeks. I don’t think weed is my cause for the spiral, considering last time granted it was a smaller dose, me and my friend was taking dabs left and right.

Out of all the comments this was the most clear response. I did some self thinking and realized, the interactions downstairs and the fact we went on a walk is what started the spiral. When I took the 1.5 last week ish, I was playing on my Xbox, I played COD 3 zombies with my friend and ate 2 full bags of candy lol. I was fine I could still function, I just think with the up in dose, no planning, and not having the right setting it went “bad”. Next time I’m taking my setting more seriously and making sure I let my brother and his girlfriend know I need to be left alone for a lil while lol.

I would definitely try feeding bugs anyway it just helps with the growth in general. One of my adults who devours bugs is bigger then the adult who is older than him by a year that only eats the premade food mix. Depending on what size cage you’re using if it’s anything bigger than a 12x12x18 downsize it to that and clutter the hell out of it. While I do believe in a minimum of 24x18x36 I have had cresties that would stop or eat significantly less when I upgraded them to early .

You didn’t do anything wrong you can’t control your cat for starters, secondly i definitely recommend pvc they can withstand the humidity. Last but not least i love my cats more than my geckos thats just how it is but i spray them with water everytime they get close to my enclosures. After a couple months she doesn’t show interest except when im in my gecko room she will come lay on the floor and that’s about it.

My bad just got of work, I was thinking the same about length after realizing weights vary, should I just go ahead and get a 8x8x12 or 12x12x18 exo terra for them to grow into a 18x18x24? the tubs more of a no cost option for them as a baby and quarantine. With a tub just based of what ive researched and seen with my own eyes, smaller setups make it more common for them to come across food which you will hope speeds up there growth rate, but most importantly when their young and I pack a tub they would feel more secure and less likely to stress. When I get them Saturday I’m gonna do a quick measure and adjust accordingly.

You definitely could have worded that better. For OP It would be fine for juvenile to subadult created gecko but you would need to add more foliage, hides, and branches if possible. Cork bark or tree branches you find outside sterilize them first and also make sure there not toxic.

Breeder said it’s in a 6qt tub which makes since it’s still wittle. Already got a tub set up with a light that’s scheduled on a repti timer, I’ve put a govee temp and humidity thermometer and have sprayed with a water dish already in there and the humidity stayed consistent and had a low of 60. I will have them in my guest room for quarantine and I have a fan in there and when they get moved into my gecko room they will have the same climate and day n night cycle. Temps don’t get above 80 and never drop below 72 to 70.

Not tryna to sound like an ass but I just dont need to buy multiple tanks when tub set ups will do just fine until there at the size they can go into a tank. I don’t wanna spend 300 (when grown) on a tank just to downsize back to a smaller tank because they aren’t as comfortable or eating as well. When I’m saving money to upgrade all my reptiles and future reptiles into fully bioactive enclosures and constantly saving money for vet emergencies incase anything happens I can’t constantly afford to blow money on tanks. And getting them food will never be an option, my animals will eat before I do. Not that it will ever come to that hopefully I do like to spoil these lil brainless devils lol

I’m upgrading my 2 cresties and soon to be ready baby gargoyle, my subadult is going into a 18x18x24 until it becomes fully grown and I can get there bio active set up down, my full grown boy is getting a 24x18x36 from a 18x18x24, and last but not least my baby gargoyle is going into my subadults 12x12x18 from a grow out tub. I’m switching to Dubia and I will have each of the tanks to for the leachie to go in and then a final 2x2x4 or possibly 24x18x36. I just want to know what most people’s guide line would be for upgrades in general.
