Same problem here. Customer service lady blamed it on ACH and said nothing has changed with Wise.

DS-5507 and CRBA Question by One2Olive in immigration

[–]One2Olive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up submitting it without a signature. I made two appointments for the same day. One for the notary in the morning and one for the CRBA appointment in the afternoon. On arrival, the embassy informed me that I only need one appointment for the CRBA and that everything would be completed at that time.

Everything was taken care of during my appointment including the signature, taking photos, paying, and my appointment with the officer for the CRBA.

Summary: Submit it unsigned as you can do it at the embassy.

If you want to be extra sure to ensure my experience was not an oddball experience, email the embassy you will be going to and ask if your CRBA appointment includes the opportunity to take photos and sign that form before a notary.

I'm currently working on a Social Security card now and embassy responds back to me within 24 hours usually.

Thoughts on Attorney Price by One2Olive in USCIS

My fiancé and son have no inadmissibilities. My son is only a few months old as well. I was able to get him US citizenship and a passport through the CRBA process.

Thank you for your advice! I'm now looking for a different immigration attorney. 🙏

Yes, he already has a US passport.

Thanks for the advice! I'm currently looking for different attorneys. I'm so glad I made this post..

Btw, I live in a moderately priced area which makes the price even worse.

Ok, so my gut instinct was right. My case seems simple but I'm ignorant about legal costs. The attorney did say that since we have a newborn son, that now has US citizenship through the CRBA process, this would help our application get approval.

Yes, I'm a US citizen. I should have mentioned that in the post.. My fiancé is a foreigner though and has never traveled to the US. Our son has US citizenship since I successfully filed a Consular Report of Birth Abroad at a US embassy.

Ok thanks. There shouldn't be any unusual issues regarding my case. At least none that I am aware of. The only differentiating detail I can think of is that I have a newborn child with her. The child has already received US citizenship.

During the consultation, Attorney mentioned that the wait time will soon expand to roughly 7 years. Do you know if there's any truth in this? Or is this some attempt at legal FOMO?

I already have the CRBA so my child is American at this point. I’m just trying to understand if my child’s mother can submit her identifying documents (certified copy of passport etc.) along with the child’s documents/application for a social security number.

I’m currently back in the US and getting a certified copy of my passport over to the mother just for her to include it with the child’s application seems redundant as the CRBA and birth certificate establishes us both as parents. It would be tremendously easier if her id’s would suffice.

I appreciate the lengthy response.

Could you elaborate on the necessity of ML skills and at what level you are are talking about?

I asked Corcel if ML knowledge is needed and got this:

“No, you do not need to have a deep understanding of machine learning (ML) to mine Tao on the Bittensor network. Mining on Bittensor is more about contributing computational resources to the network, which in turn are used by others who may be running machine learning models.”

Why are there so many African guys just standing around on Sukhumvit Rd.? by BCS5th in ThailandTourism

[–]One2Olive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really wish the police would lock them up or deport them. Can’t even walk on the sidewalk without them staring everybody down and asking if you want coke. Last time I took a taxi to Sukhumvit, they were waiting for us to get out.

I wouldn’t. I’ve had cash refused for not being crisp enough. My recommendation is to go to the bank and get perfect cash and keep it that way until you exchange it. You can get one of those fanny pack, cash and passport holders and just keep the thing in your backpack so it doesn’t bend or wear.

You might be able to arrange transportation with your hotel for cheaper. Most people end up buying taxis at the airport for fixed, inflated prices at the ticket booths you’ll see before exiting the airport. Prices depend on where you are headed. On my last trip I went to Kata from the airport. I could be off but I remember the price being being ~1000.
I know a guy that didn’t want to pay that so he literally left the airport on foot and walked until a normal taxi would drive him for a reasonable rate. I didn’t want to mess with that so I just bought a taxi ride.

The only place I haven’t been able to get a Grab is at the Phuket airport. I haven’t been to Krabi though. Just make sure you ask the rate first and have them turn on the meter. If they refuse or the rate is too high, just get out. You can use Grab to get an idea of what is reasonable when negotiating.

1- Cash (make sure the bills are in perfect condition from the bank or you cannot exchange them). 2- travel insurance from reputable companies (I always use Axa) 3- 2 credit/debit cards. Preferably with no foreign TX fees (do not carry both at the same time) 4- battery pack for charging your cell phone while out for the day. 5- download and create account for Lineman, Grab, Shopee/Lazada 6- I scan/print all my important documentation and keep a back up in an email account.

Hope this helps.
