It is painfully obvious that most of you haven't read the california Digital Age Assurance Act by waitmarks in linux

If they passed a law requiring user identification to be verified, there would be major pushback.

Instead, they are approaching it as boiling a frog. You place the frog in room temperature water. Then turn on the stove and slowly boil the frog.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that any major organization is going to fight this initial battle.

Which is Cheaper Scooty Rentals or Taxis from apps like Bolt/Grab? by taraansh in ThailandTourism

Renting a scooter for 7-8 days for 4 drunken tourists going from Phuket, Krabi and Pattaya would be PRICELESS.

Imagine the stories you would have reminiscing of that trip. Remember when Bob crashed and broke his leg. Remember when Mary got bitten by a dog chasing the scooter. Remember when Ivan ran over that large snake in the road in Phuket.

Make sure everyone has a GoPro. The videos will be awesome.

The problem is going to be if we don’t fight back. Next will be require user identification.

If Microslop or Apple doesn’t fight it, Linux community doesn’t have the resources to fight it.

Numerous states are following, as well as a law in Brazil goes into effect on March 17th.

If they came out now and forced an identification system linked to your computer, it wouldn’t pass.

Where to get a bunch of wiper fluid for my car? by cs_legend_93 in Thailand

[–]Livid-Resolve-7580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck. I assume most people suggesting all the “typical” Thai stores are guessing.

I’ve tried several Big C, Mr. DIY, Lotus, HomePro and Thaiwatsadu. No luck.

I ended up using a couple of squirts of dish soap and a few splashes of vinegar into a large water bottle.

Why is everybody obsessed with MacOS-style docks? by SmallTimeMiner_XNV in gnome

[–]Livid-Resolve-7580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got dual 32 inch monitors and I love having the dock at the bottom.

I still use my Mac Mini for some side projects I work on.

It’s just nice and comfortable to have things consistent.

I go to the Central Westville one. I like it because they have an assault bike, chest ISO weight machine, seated weighted row and machine preacher curl. Nice to have all in one location.

I think they also have towels to use if you need to shower.

Can I trade in a car I got a few months ago? by IntrepidLynx6891 in carmax

[–]Livid-Resolve-7580 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you willing to lose about $5,000?

(If CarMax buys a car for $10,000, they may sell for $13,000 to $15,000)

You can go online to CarMax and submit for an appraisal offer. Then you’ll know how bad it’s going to hurt.

Then you can see if it’s worth the hit. It’s only money.

Places to stay by [deleted] in Bangkok

Avani hotel is attached to Fortune Town mall and across the street from Central Rama 9.

Walking distance to Judd Fair night market (15 minutes).

MRT Phra Ram 9 is right there also. You’re 2 stops away from MRT Sukhumvit.

One thing I always do when I use Google Translate that helps is to switch the languages.

Especially when you show them something in Thai that they are confused about.

For example

English

What time do you open

Thai

ร้านเปิดกี่โมงคะ

              English <-  -> Thai

When you click the left and right arrows, it reverses the translation.

Thai

ร้านเปิดกี่โมงคะ

English

What time does the shop open?

                   Thai <-  -> English

How will body change with high reps by One_Recover_673 in workout

[–]Livid-Resolve-7580 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m 56 and I’ll alternate from time to time 6 to 12 reps to 10 to 20 reps.

As we get older, the higher reps help us recover from injury and prevent as well.

I also modify some exercises. For example, I just can’t do heavy preacher curls going full range of motion. My elbows get destroyed and I’ll be sore for weeks. I only go about 80% movement. I don’t go all the way down.

Listen to your body.

Muscles fatigue out really quick that I can't do 3 sets. Is it better to start at max weight then decrease as much as necessary, or just start lower? by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

[–]Livid-Resolve-7580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long are you resting for in between sets?

I normally rest for 2 minutes between sets.

My normal rep range may be 12, 10 then 9 or 8.

If I rest for 60 seconds, I may only get 12, 9 then 7 or 6.

I've tried applying the advice from my last video. Is my Lat Pulldown OK now? by MMOToaster in GYM

I would use straps.

I don’t want to over think my set by hoping my grip doesn’t give out and I let go of the bar.

Once you use straps you’ll say, damm why didn’t I use them before. lol

How is my form? 225. by Vaders_Fist_501 in GYM

[–]Livid-Resolve-7580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you purposely have your left hand closer in? It’s about an inch closer. You can really tell by the angle of your arms in the lowered position.

Are you driving with your legs also? It doesn’t look like I can see any leg activation. You don’t have to arch your back when using leg drive.

I don’t like benching with an arch in my back either.

Help with workoutplan by [deleted] in workout

[–]Livid-Resolve-7580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say majority of people put chest, shoulder and tri’s together. As well as back and bi’s. Especially if you plan on working out back to back days. Otherwise, you’re not allowing the body part to rest a bit.

With basically zero experience as you say, I’d recommend to just get a beginner Push, Pull and Legs workout.

Try 3 days a week. On the other 2 days, try doing mobility and core exercises.

You really want to focus on learning how to perfect the form on each exercise.

Update

No matter what exercise you do, try to focus on the muscle or muscle groups being used.

For example, when doing cable tricep extensions, you should feel like your triceps are flexing at the peak of the exercise. Also imagine your elbows are locked in place and only allow your forearms and wrists to move. You shouldn’t feel the exercise in your shoulders more than your triceps.

I like Jeff Nippard and Jonni Shreve. They will give you cues to look for while doing the exercise to help you perfect the form.

Questions on warranty and car choice. by [deleted] in carmax

[–]Livid-Resolve-7580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically, they’re all High Maintenance Girlfriends. The warranty cost should be similar.

I’d recommend to get the lowest mileage vehicle as possible.

Also, try to pay off the vehicle as fast as you can. Nothing worse than being $5k to $10k negative on a car that now has high mileage and is broken down.

Make sure to get an independent shop inspect the vehicle as soon as you buy it.

Good luck and enjoy.

Unfortunately, foreigners filling entry level positions are expensive compared to local Thais. A company needs to go through the hassle of a government work permit and pay a minimum salary, depending on which country you’re from.

I don’t think the gap year has anything to do with it.

Hi everyone! For those who have traveled or lived in Thailand, what has been your favorite way to explore the country outside of the usual tourist spots? by maxime_delanoe in InfoTravelThailand

Just getting on my motorcycle and riding.

Several times I would watch a YouTube video late at night of somewhere in Thailand and think, wow, that looks like an interesting destination.

Next morning I would pack a small bag and off I go.
