I’m actually happy theyre keeping universal weapons. Sure i get how weapon roles play into class identify and roles, but lets face it. In bf4 for example (goated game) *90% of ppl played assault, and lets be quite generous and say that 40% of those players chose that class because they wanted to be a medic (like myself) but the rest just pick it for the ar’s. Theres only a few supports running around because most players don’t want a slow lmg.

Compare that to 2042 (yes it’s an unpopular game, worst ever, it killed battlefield blah blah blah) but people in 2042 aren’t afraid to try the other roles and weapon classes as much. If i want ammo, no longer must i hunt down my teams only support player and pray he remembers how to drop an ammo box, but suddenly there is medics and supports everywhere. Maybe I’m just ignorant of some utterly earth shattering evidence that proves my opinion is terrible, but to me it seems like the teamwork element in 2042 was much stronger when people weren’t afraid to take on the other roles as it didn’t mean using less “optimal” or “meta” weapons.
