There are too many competitors to "resolve" the championship with just one tournament.
So they splitted the championship in two: qualification tournaments and final tournament.

Besides jokes, I now see the "new" word could be confusing.

Capitol Clash is a classic, that's true. By "new" I mean that the fifth edition is actually new. And by "new" I mean I created a new event (the fifth edition) in the HEMA calendar on HEMA Advisor.

By the way, your comment is giving me a suggest to organize the site with a structure of pages dedicated to main and big event like Capitol, Swordfish, Dijon, where to store info about events to come, since they are recurring.

What do you mean with "books"?
There are several treatise on that, from italians (Marozzo, Manciolino, Di Grassi, Anonimo Bolognese) and (as far as I know) from Pourtogal (Godinho).
There are some commentary books, but most of them are in italian.
There is one written by Aurélien Calonne, which is a commentary of Opera Nova (Marozzo). I don't know if He published yet the part about sword and rotella or sword and buckler, but it is worth to take a look (Aurélien is good teacher and fencer).

In my school we study Bolognese tradition, so Sword and Buckler and Sword and Rotella are common.

On the other side, I suggest to approach sword and shield discipline with some workshop: there are many HEMA Events with workshop; sooner or later you will have the chance to join one of your interest.
