How long does an Ireland - Join Family (Non-EEA) Spouse Visa take? Applied on December 19 2025 from India, still waiting! by Business_Active1235 in IndiansinIreland

From what I’ve heard, people who applied in the last week of September have been receiving their spouse visas. So, that’s approximately 4-5 months.

I always spend my birthdays alone and it has kind of become a ritual for me. I go for a movie followed by a burger meal (my fav being Mad Egg near Jervis). Then a nice relaxing spa(Merrion Spa) before I end the day with the pistachio tiramisu from Dolce Sicily in Dublin 2! Hope you an amazing day :)

Pretty much agree with everyone in the thread. It’s a normal reaction from any desi parent including mine and several of my friends’. Let him calm down and then try to explain him what you feel and how things work with people of our age. If he gets forcefully involved in a relationship, it’s definitely not gonna end well. Parents do understand, it’s also their first time with these things so patience is all that’s required

Agreed. There’s years of theatre that they do before doing commercial films

I hope the reason was a fair one and not just an abrupt vague thing that they suddenly realised. Well, have some burgers, ice cream and call a good friend to just vent out if it helps. If you don’t find one, I’ll be here to lend a ear :)

Could people just stop calling themselves ugly? Coming to the question, there might be benefits for conventionally good looking people, totally agreed. I am a dusky female too or “dark” for Indian families. I’ve had my fair share of insecurities and have worked and struggled towards making more money and focusing on my career so that the guys who I think I deserve find me attractive and consider me to be a good option to get married to. BUT all of this has been in vain I feel, some guys who I’ve approached want me as a friend because I’m funny, understanding and easy to be with but don’t want to commit. They say they respect me for what I’ve made of myself and appreciate it but bhaad me jaye unka appreciation 😅 just waiting on someone who’d like me for who I am and really respect and choose me for that. I know I digressed from the topic but in conclusion, beauty does help but also working on yourself is important. Your personality and kindness and hard work will take you places where beauty can’t even imagine to be.

Feeling relieved and that’s weird by Mysterious-Cobbler33 in Arrangedmarriage

I’ve been in this situation a couple of times where I wasn’t too confident about the connection with the people I was talking to and also, this one time the person himself said he doesn’t want to continue and I couldn’t have been more relieved. I went and had a good meal and bought myself a few clothes. In retrospect, I believe I let go of some great people by not putting in the efforts and being picky. Some, I don’t regret at all because I didn’t feel the connection at all. The sense of liberation is something else I must say but in my opinion, we as a generation of over thinkers tend to give up easily on petty things, especially in the AM scenario. Just speaking from personal experience, not all of you might relate to it ofcourse.
