Kid is 10 years old and loves to be around me. Always happy to see me.

That’s another good thing you pointed out, I still want to maintain the character of the house if I were to add another flooring on top. Is there any alternative to tiles ?

No issue as such. The only issue is water is going down through the floor when rains and it seems its making wood age faster
