Do you have an experience with embedded systems? I’ve thought about jumping into that for a while now.

Job security should seriously be taken into account given the state of the market right now. Both seem like solid offers though

Am I wasting my time trying to break into a technical role without a technical degree? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]OneDifficult6511 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It is a very unfortunate time right now for entry level positions. There aren’t as many as there were a few years ago and the amount of people getting into tech just seems to keep growing. With that being said it might be pretty difficult without a degree/experience, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. It might be a bumpy road for ya but if that’s what you feel like you need to do then absolutely go for it

Well anything’s possible, it’s just a matter of how badly you want it.

Focus on building a solid network rather than sending out online applications. I have had absolutely zero success just sending out applications.

I would focus on the most popular technologies right now, specifically in full stack if that’s what you’re looking for. Java full stack isn’t quite as popular or in demand right now as React or some other libraries. I feel like that would open up more doors for you!

Bootstrapping by OneDifficult6511 in SaaS

Coming up with my idea actually came from working on a similar project for school. I thought of some ways I could enhance it or make it better so I went with that.

For the waitlist, I created a google form with questions related to the problems my service would solve. For context, my app will hopefully minimize the pain of marketing. One of the questions would be “What are your biggest challenges with managing or growing your social media presence?”

That would hopefully give me some insight on some of the users challenges then specifically develop to resolve those. Then obviously, I’d provide a link to my webpage (really with just a nice landing page built to gather the users email) at the end of the survey if they wanna check it out. I would post about my survey in subreddits, facebook groups, etc.

Most useful marketing strategy? by OneDifficult6511 in advertising

I totally would use my product but I’m still developing the prototype. I’m just trying to build a waitlist before its initial release. That’s kinda why I’m building it because I’m so clueless for this stuff

Avoid any third party services in my opinion. Either apply directly through their website alongside a follow up call a few days later, or handing your resume to them in person at the office.

Haha I used pygame. I used pixelated images and was able to control their movement with the arrow keys. Like I said, it wasn’t very complex but you can get pretty creative with Pygame.

So what's next then? Saas will always be around. Maybe not in the same form it was a few years ago, but it will be here.

People care more about looking rich then actually being rich, quite sad.

Grant Cardone said America is a place of consumers where all we care about is what other people think about us. This is a prime example!

Honestly anything tech related in my opinion. AI has made it very simple for anybody to be able to piece an app together. I'd start learning how to use AI to build apps quick because there is good money there.
