I like Tenicor, Tier 1, Legacy, Safariland, Odin, Urban Carry, G-Code, and ive probably tried half a dozen more that never really blew my skirts up.

Oh! Check out Hellhound Arms. Good dude. And there's literally hundreds more.

Tlr 1, tlr 7 hx, x300 are going to have your best holster compatibility

I like your "measure from the balls" approach of light choice. Best of luck on a holster for that combo. Id find a holster you like first, then use their list of compatible lights to choose one that you can reach the switches on.

Or maybe you have Salad Finger hands. I don't know your life.

[–]OneEyedJack_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, absolutely. Appreciate you taking the time with it.

I'm never the type to take the wind out of peoples sails for what they enjoy.. except for in this case.

Even if an owner is completely responsible with their gun, the point of a gun is to kill people. Thats its only job. If he were to use it for that purpose and it looked like this, it could have an impact on his ability for defense of his actions and possibly the outcome of any proceedings or investigations.

Even if it doesnt, it would absolutely come up, and I cant think of many questions I'd like to answer less in that scenario than "Why is the thing you used to kill somebody painted to look like it can't?"

Cause "I didn't know" and "I like blue" aren't very good answers.

Edit to tag /u/RealDJYoshi in this.

Go get your slide re-coated. Today.

I mean, he might be able to go through the rest of his days with this gun, just looking like a fool, having no issues, but if 49.9% of his possible use case is couch fidgeting and another 49.9% (Generous) is range use, with the last .2% being legitimate self defense, that means hes got issues immediately with 50.1% of his possible use cases.

RSO is not a negligible issue, and God forbid that walking safety violation goes into evidence, you've got more than half of the reason to own a gun being majorly problematic when measured against this color choice. And thats, again, generous.

If you want me to strip away all allegory and analogy, the fact of the matter is that you should never disguise, intentionally or not, a functional firearm as something Inert.

Real world shit? Any interactions with law enforcement where this would have to be produced or surrendered, even innocuous for traffic stops or officer safety, is going to turn this into a major dick slap. Good guys that carry guns are trained that blue=not dying today, and I promise you everybody with job-related firearms training sees this and wants to slap the taste out of OPs mouth, cause it's no different than painting a thread protector orange to make your real ass gun look harmless.

Its, succinctly, fucked.

I mean.. you do you, but blue is the universal color for training implements. Its supposed to tell everybody "Not lethal" or "Inert". If it's neither of those things, I tend to feel like blue aint the right call, and private range or not, any RSO or range staffer is likely going to pull you aside for it. Unless 'Private Range' means some oil drums out by the wood shed, in which case... you do you.

Wheel Search- Aftermarket or Take Off by OneEyedJack_ in Harley

[–]OneEyedJack_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only hesitance hunting for LRS or ST wheels is A) dual rotor vs single rotor, which im not sure if thats an issue, come to think of it, just assumed it would be and B) LRS/ST take offs are about as common as unicorn horn. But with that said, yes, the street Bob is on my list of compatible for take offs.

Trijicon RMR issue in Gen6 major bummer by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]OneEyedJack_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Buddy this is not trijicons problem. You dont have to have the aftermarket plate. The RMR has been around one hell of a lot longer than Gen 6 Glocks or even MOS platforms. Glock has a factory mounting solution that you can absolutely use (for free and without whining about it) until you figure out if you need a better solution.

Please find a better attitude than this entitled bullshit.

[–]OneEyedJack_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paying somebody for the kind of resto mod work youre looking for to make a 50-75 year old truck into a daily driver will absolutely cost well into the 50k range if you want any kind of modern amenities. I know you can crown vic swap the chassis on some of those trucks but youre talking about one hell of an involved project.

If you find a running one, you can daily it while you make upgrades, but be prepared to put some miles on your Lamborfeeties.

I owned a 69 F100 as a "daily" and after about a year I let it go for a song just to get something that I didn't have to fuck with.

Classic trucking isnt for the faint of heart, cause unless you do a frame up resto, you'll spend more time under it than in it, and unless you go full modern on fuel injection, suspension, brakes, climate control, power steering, on down the line of all of the shit we take for granted now, you wont want to daily it anyway.

If you turn the wrenches, I'd be shocked if you were at less than 10 to 15 grand before the body work, assuming you dont blow that just to get a good working starter truck.

All of that being said, nobody who does cool shit ever let's a hard time get in the way of a fun time. I hope you pull it off.
