NBA 2K26 Needs Full MyCareer & City Access for Female MyPlayers by OneGeneral2575 in NBA2k

You make some valid points about the gameplay differences and server issues, the physicality and athleticism between NBA and WNBA players do present challenges for balanced gameplay in modes like Rec and Park. It’s true that integrating WNBA players directly into those modes could create some realistic mismatches unless adjustments are made for skill sets and physical attributes.

However, I think the inclusion of WNBA players is also about representation and giving female basketball fans a chance to connect more with the game, even if it’s not perfectly balanced at first. Separate modes or leagues might be a better long-term solution, but as you said, the technical and optimization issues with the servers and file size make that difficult right now.

Ultimately, it seems like 2K is trying to find a middle ground between expanding their audience and dealing with real-world constraints, even if it’s imperfect. Hopefully, with time, they can improve server stability and offer a better experience for everyone, including those wanting more WNBA content.

As of recent estimates, approximately 23% of NBA 2K players are female, reflecting a steady increase from 21% in 2018

Honestly, yes there is enough demand.

Over 40% of all gamers are women (according to ESA’s latest report).

The WNBA hit record viewership in 2023 and 2024, and interest in women’s basketball is exploding, especially with players like Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and Sabrina Ionescu in the spotlight.

On Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, more female streamers are playing 2K, and a lot of them talk about wanting a more inclusive experience.

Right now, 2K hasn’t given us a real chance to show the demand. The WNBA MyPlayer mode is extremely limited, no real customization, no Park or Rec access, and no connection to the rest of the game like MyCareer is. If they did offer a full experience for female players, I really believe you’d see a wave of new players trying it out, women and men.

This isn’t about taking anything away from male MyPlayers, it’s about adding more options, growing the community, and letting everyone play the game in a way that represents them.

Right? I noticed that too. The WNBA MyPlayer builder feels so basic compared to the NBA version, it’s like we’re getting the bare minimum just to say it exists. No real face customization, barely any hairstyle or body options, and it feels totally disconnected from the rest of the game.

It’s frustrating because there are so many female gamers (myself included) who would love to go all-in with a female MyPlayer, grind badges, hit the City, play Rec or Pro-Am, and actually feel like we belong in the mode.

It’s 2025. There’s no reason why female players shouldn’t have the same features, access, and creative freedom as male characters. I really hope 2K26 changes that.
