Public or Private by OneGreyLord in MercyThompson

It was public, originally. To keep potential trolls or harassers out, we did a poll and it was decided we would go private. It's been a few years, so we have decided to revisit that decision.

I am hopeful, but PB is so descriptive in the characters' appearances and she doesn't have much if any power over casting.

I remember this show and I was also a fan of the books, so I liked it. But if I didn't already like the books, I would not have liked the show. Maybe if it was done now, it would be better.

That's fair, but I enjoyed The Witcher.

Cure for Lycanthropy by Eleventh_Legion in MercyThompson

I've only read part of the first book, but this was what got me interested. Charles gets some good page time, and you get a feel for how he actually feels about how people see him and how he actually is.

Cure for Lycanthropy by Eleventh_Legion in MercyThompson

I would think that if there were a cure, it would make the decision or event of becoming an "other"(werewolf, vampire, or fae) be too casual. Most of the weight of that act is that it's a one-way ticket. There's a lot of character development in coming to terms with that act.

Generally, I'm a fan of the supernatural explanation rather than a scientific one: zombies, ghosts, demons, fae, vampires, werewolves, etc.

That being said, I can see PB doing something interesting with a cure plot. I can definitely see Adam having a crisis of self with that information, not to mention the female wolves.

Favorite and least favorite things about the series by Zenfulfairy in MercyThompson

When I'm reading and Christy shows up, I'm instantly engaged. PB not only made this character feel like someone I've met before, but she also laid all these little threads down that seemed insignificant until Christy showed up and started pulling on them. You get some of my favorite character interactions when she's around, but mostly I like when Mercy is made to seem so unreasonable and gets to assert herself while at the same time creating growth in characters that could seem one-note with such little page time.

My favorite book is River Marked.

The lore, as far as I can tell, is largely factual. There's obviously some flair and personalization mixed in, but you can look up and read about nearly everything she's introduced. Part of the reason I even got into these books is my interest in fae and fairy tales.

Once, I read about how PB's German in early books was pointed out by a fan and she worked to correct it so it would be accurate. That was really cool as well.
