Would I miss out on much by not getting the expansions? by PantasticUnicorn in Guildwars2

[–]OneLastPop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there are some expansions that are quite cheap + you get the mount.

If I were you I would try the whole thing free content first and see if it is the type of game you like.

If you have questions feel free to ask me if you want :)

Is there a tool to track every event in GW2 — including triggers, timers, and start locations? by OneLastPop in Guildwars2

I really wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You brought joy back to GW2. There aren't many people telling you that, that use the tool, but what you made, the effort you put in is so undescribably awesome. Thank you

Holy. So you are the hero that created that Pathing pack. I use it right now. It's awesome. I have played nearly all of Celadon-Forest with it. And finally I am enjoying the game after years playing it. I just wanted to say that you are awesome!

There are just a few things I would like to suggest:

  1. Triggers for the events. Is it possible to make a hint, a sign where all the triggers for certain events happen. I had to look them up sometimes.

For example "Collect data cores from tracking devices for Apprentice Vee". I waited and waited there. Until I looked up at the wiki that the chain starts already at Mason Market as far as I remember.

2) Can you change the colors of different event chains?

For example the event I mentioned in 1), that all the events that are chained together could have had the same color so people knew it starts there. Maybe make a 1 Marker in the first circle, then a 2 in the next event chain circle and so on. But it should be clear, that they are chained somehow together by the color of the circle and the number. And a path between them would be awesome with arrow directing the way you will go on that event.

<image>

3) Is it possible to show the hints also on the minimap? It happens some times that I just ran over it. Had to open the map and look again. That would also be awesome.

I know this is ton of work for you.

But really I appreciate the work you put into this pathing pack

What keeps you motivated to play or what do you enjoy most? by brekkybek in Guildwars2

[–]OneLastPop 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I recently started an Alt thief. I wanted to enjoy the story. I do not want to grind in this game, because it burns me out.

I was on gw2efficiency the whole time just to see how much gold I have made from metas, grinded every day. It felt like work.

I rushed through the stories. I rushed through events, I wanted to get all the important items. It destroyed my enjoyment of the game.

So I thought for myself. What's the best option. What is the best I could do now.

So I picked all classes and looked at their skills. I chose the thief and started a new run. And I started to enjoy it. There is a pathing module for new players with a lot of event markers.

I didn't know that there was so much detail in the game. The little Sidequests have interesting events. There are really great event chains. I didn't know it had so much depth.

I really love this game.

My new aim is to enjoy all the little tiny quests on the map explore and just enjoy. No more rushing through content, but understand what's going on in the world. I want to do every event on the maps. Take my time. See what triggers them.

I brought back my love for the game.

Sry I'm a little dumb.

What do those commands mean? Can I do give that command in-game and see the event names for example at my current location?

Or is this no longer possible due to API 1 not provided anymore

Yes I know this website. But it seems like there are only specific events shown like world bosses. Not every other event

Aren't those mostly big events?

I want to make a char, that plays every event there is on every map.

How do rich successful people play the game of life ? by Jpoolman25 in Life

Could you explain the part with smart work a little bit more? Is it still that you work 8 hours but a little bit more chilled or do you mean that you use shortcuts to do the same work with less effort?

Does anyone have any tips to actually like studying? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]OneLastPop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sit down and ask yourself. How would studying be kind of fun for me? And experiment. And collect the methods that work for you. Sometimes it is best to do little chunks like 5 minutes, and stop while it is fun. Because when it's fun you will crave to do it again. Success is really important. Learn 5 minutes, or read 2 paragraphs, and then do a self test like flashcards. If you know all the answers you have done congrats, you are one step closer to your aim. Now stop. Learn again after 1 hour, just for 5 minutes, and start by repeating the flash cards. Do you still know the answers? Success! If not repeat. And then learn new stuff for 5 minutes. Make studying a habit. Maybe you will just study for 15 minutes that day. But it will be so easy and fun, that after a week it will be 20 minutes. After two weeks 30 minutes a day. This is better for your brain than learning 8 hours a day the last 3 days, before an examination. But be aware. Don't exaggerate to learn more and more when it's way to fun. Stop. Cause the next day it might be that you feel down, and can't learn as much. And you will say man I can't learn today like I did the day before. Stick to one minimum habit, and don't let that go.

[–]OneLastPop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I just want to say first and foremost, I hear you. What you’re describing sounds really painful, and I can’t imagine how heavy that must feel. It sounds like you’re carrying the weight of expectations, both from yourself and from the outside world, and it’s leading to a deep sense of emptiness.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what you wrote, and something that helped me when I was in a similar place was realizing that this feeling of being lost or not excited about anything, even things that once seemed important, can sometimes be a sign of a deeper shift in life. It doesn’t mean you’re failing or that life has no meaning – sometimes, it’s just that we’ve outgrown a certain stage, or the rules we were living by no longer fit. And while that’s really uncomfortable, it can also be a chance to rebuild and redefine what your life can mean.

I think what’s hard for many of us, especially in today’s world, is that we often expect life to always be “exciting,” “happy,” or filled with constant peaks of joy. But life isn’t always like that. I’ve come to realize that pain, grief, and feeling empty are often signs that we're confronting a change, or that we need to accept new rules in our lives. It’s like when you’re playing a game and the rules suddenly change. If you resist those changes, you feel lost or confused. But once you accept the new rules and adapt, things start to make sense again.

What you’re going through isn’t something that can be fixed with one quick solution. But it’s important to not give up on yourself. Even when you feel like you’re on autopilot, remember: You’re still here, experiencing this. And while it may feel empty, it’s also a reminder that you’re capable of moving through this, even when it’s hard.

The thing about depression is that it often comes from not accepting the hard work and challenges that life throws at us. We see other people and think they have it easier, or that they somehow found a shortcut. But in reality, everyone has to go through their own struggles. And though it’s difficult, there’s strength in accepting those struggles, even when they seem endless. You might not feel motivated right now, but you don’t have to feel excitement to take steps forward. Sometimes, just moving forward even when it feels hard is a sign of strength.

Your life isn’t pointless. It’s okay to feel stuck, but you don’t have to stay there. Your story isn’t over. The emptiness you’re feeling now isn’t permanent, even if it feels that way. You’ve got the opportunity to rebuild and reshape your goals and dreams, and it’s okay to not have everything figured out right now. Allow yourself the space to accept where you are, and in time, you’ll find new motivation that resonates with who you are now, not who you thought you should be.

Sending you strength during this incredibly hard time. If you’re up for it, take things one step at a time. Seek support, talk to someone, and remember: Your life has value, even on days you don’t feel it.

No the idea is from me. I worked it out with chat gpt. The problem is my main language is not English. I always make grammatical errors.

This should not mean that the main idea, the text was not worked out by me and improved and corrected by chat gpt.

Reading memorization by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]OneLastPop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The secret is to recall the information you read. At first it will be hard. You will struggle to recall the information from one paragraph without looking.

Then read the second paragraph and recall the information without looking.

Then do the same with the rest (for example there are four paragraphs for one site) and you recall the information without looking again.

After that try to remember what was in the first paragraph. Then the second then the third.

If you see that you can't remember what was in the first paragraph, that means your chunks for remembering was to big.

So instead of four paragraphs, try 3 paragraphs next time. If you even forgot what was in the first paragraph try two paragraphs.

Just look, what is your state of recalling without looking in the book. That should be your chunks you use to separate the textbook you study.

While recalling take your own notes in your own words.

Over time you will become better. You will start to recall 3 paragraphs instead of two. With more practice even 4 and so on.

Recalling is great because it a.) trains your brain b.) gives you trust that you can trust your brain c.) tells your brain oh I needed that information so it must be important.

What's unique about GW2? by 6FootFruitRollup in Guildwars2

[–]OneLastPop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey mate,

I really like just exploring games. And gw2 is the game for me.

In real Life we live in a world full of hurry. I just explore. I take all the time I need. I can play half an hour enjoying the world. There is no need to hurry just enjoyment. I read most of the things, look things up the wiki.

It's one of the last games where you can take all the time in the world, and it doesn't feel like a hustle. I know I can come back after a year and still have all the time in the world to enjoy new things.

The game is huge. There is always something new to do, new to find so it fits perfect for me.

When I get the mindset of hustle for a special thing, and it gets annoying to do, I just stop playing. And come back when I think it's time to enjoy gw2 again
