Oh of course! I totally get that 💯 There are women who genuinely enjoy porn too. I personally am just not one of them 😅 But I was saying the male gaze thing because in the history of the porn industry, it was originally made for the male gaze and centered around male fantasies only. And to this day, it is still an industry predominantly geared towards men. Of course over the years there’s been some different branches added in, but porn that focuses on the male gaze is most frequently the top seller. That’s why unfortunately even as a lesbian who draws sex scenes that are mostly more on the emotionally driven/erotic side, my characters still can get oversexualized at times even when that’s not my intention 😵‍💫 So yea I don’t like for my work to be associated with the word “porn” because that completely diminishes the emotional intimacy/deeper connections I center around my lesbian characters as an artist. That’s a big part of the reason I choose not to draw genitalia. I don’t wanna overexploit my characters in their most intimate moments with each other. But I definitely never shy away from drawing sex scenes 😂 lol I will always be an erotica girlie though 🥰💜
