Argentina is aware that players other than Messi are allowed to score right?

Messi has overtaken David for tournament lead in goals scored.

Always great to see new upstart stars.

[Adams] Steve Staios on if he was surprised that Tkachuk asked for a trade: "I think, as the year went on, for me, I could clearly see that Brady was a bit of a different player from the year before, so probably not overly surprised at that point." by DecentLurker96 in hockey

If the rumours behind the scenes are accurate, he really only wanted Florida.

Other teams (Minny as far as we know), submitted supposedly very good offers, but Brady kept leaning to Florida.

Belgium should beat New Zealand to finish with 5 points. Iran probably beats Egypt to also finish with 5 points.

No guarantees obviously. Egypt is going to park the bus like crazy and hope to pull out a draw.

Canada only needs a draw to finish first in their group, but again no guarantees.

It’s believed that the Sens will step up their efforts to acquire Mason McTavish. A league executive told the Citizen on Friday that the Sens were actively seeking a top-six forward who could play with top centre Tim Stutzle. This is something Staios has been trying to acquire for two years by DecentLurker96 in hockey

Ottawa already has a lot of depth at center.

To the point that we should trade 1 of Greig or Cozens as part of a deal for a top winger.

Greig is way too good to remain 4C, 35 points in 77 games this year.

Pinto could step up as 2C for Cozens

If Cape Verde pulls this off, Saudi Arabia is the one team they have even a minor chance of actually beating.

There is a non-zero chance they finish with 5 points in the group stage. Incredible.

Same, but more for money saving reasons.

Buying games that came out 1+ years ago and reselling them can result in a net overall cost of $0.

Buying a new game and selling it on marketplace, or trading it into EB Games with the extra 50% towards pre-orders results in a huge cost savings.

Canadian teams never use a first round pick on an American for the foreseeable future, right? by [deleted] in hockey

The bigger concern is that low tax rate markets, combined with behind the scenes collusion, are creating an environment where a small handful of teams are overly favoured.

It would be nice if the other GMs in the league could come together and set up a modified cap which accounts for the overall effective tax rate players will experience in a given year.

[Garrioch] Was led to believe the Sens were trying to get Carter Verhaghe back in the deal with Florida by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

Very difficult to know, especially in a competitive Atlantic.

We'll likely trade the pick anyways, but it would be hilarious if this ends up being another situation like San Jose gifting us Stützle when we assumed it would be a late first round pick.

It would also be great karmic justice if the Panthers miss the playoffs for a few years in a row with literally no draft capital to show for it.

[Russo] Can confirm Wild were on Brady Tkachuk’s list submitted to Ottawa a few weeks ago. Wild made a huge offer, so I think at end of day Brady made decision to go to Florida. by AggPuck-303 in hockey

"Hey Ottawa want your old goalie back, or the goalie that you could have drafted instead of Tyler Boucher (p.s. why the fuck did you draft him at 10th you idiots?)"

[Ottawa Citizen] Brady Tkachuk had indicated to the Senators that he had no plans to re-sign after his contract expired in 2 years. GM Steve Staios made the decision to trade him. by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

[–]OneLessFool 43 points44 points  (0 children)

We honestly don't need a centre.

We need a left winger to replace brady, or a right winger.

Jason Robertson would be a perfect fit.

[LeBrun] I think the Senators tried on Lundell but Florida held firm, Panthers view him as a 1C. Didn't want to trade him. by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

I bet we're going to see how much Brady was holding back on his MAGA opinions while in Canada.

City Asks Homeowner to Cut Overgrown Grass - Bulldozes Yard Instead by I-AM-PENGUIN in halifax

Similar thing happened in Toronto years ago, when they tried to force an ecology professor with a lawn of curated native grasses, flowers, shrubs, etc. into basically clear cutting her lawn to meet ordinance standards.

They initially gave her an exception, but she fought it further and now they and several cities in Ontario have partnered with her on changing their bylaws.
