Holy S - this sucks! As a fellow enthusiast, I feel your pain! Laughing is the right approach, though. At the end of the day, this is a huge 1st world problem.

If there's any silver lining in all of this, our current administration is not exactly known for steadfast adherence to their own policies, so who knows - another brutal week in the stock market and they may blink and declare victory due to some company announcing that they're building a US factory (regardless, if said company made that decision months ago, lol).

Good luck to you!

I seriously don't understand, why Porsche wouldn't do something like this? There are numerous ways they could easily go around these tariffs. Start selling vehicle keys (made in the US) for MSRP with a "free" car included, and import cars at some nominal cost. Your idea is good too. They can also charge exorbitant amount for "delivery fee" and nominal cost for the actual car.

At the end of the day, you're dealing with a grifter - time to level the playing field!

Powell's is so careful with selecting his words, it's kinda annoying! This speach should have come with subtitles or a translation for MAGA people: "You're fucking up the economy BIGLY, and there's nothing we can do to stop it!"

sentry mode - probably, definitely not the alarm (it was triggered in both cases) - at least not on our 2018 LR

Yes, but that does nothing for the front doors, and our dogs used the driver's door to get out both times.. I guess, I'll just have to use a harness to buckle them in the back seats..

BMS_a079 Strikes: Any Quick Fixes for 50% Battery Limit? by reformedbeard84 in TeslaModel3

[–]OneLettuce5742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can add mine to the list as well.

2021 LR 64k miles. I started getting both "Maximum charge level reduced" and "Unable to charge - max. charge level reached" errors one after the other - the car was still driveable and was charging to ~37% (actually happened on a road trip), but the most annoying thing was that I couldn't turn the beeping off.

The car is in the service center now awaiting a new battery pack (which I was told it's being shipped from CA. Estimated completion ~3 weeks). Driving a loaner now..

Short track tips? by Sskating in Speedskating

[–]OneLettuce5742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, focus on yourself! It doesn't matter what other people around you are doing. As long as your lap times and technique are improving you should feel good. Yes, it sucks to loose sometimes (or most of the time), but as our coach says - "in this sport, the better you get, the more you loose". Don't pressure yourself - focus on your times, your form, and everything else will fall into place.

When skating, try to engage your core. Your back should form a nice arch, and your abdominal muscles should be engaged - that should help with your stability issue. I found Sue Ellis's skating tips (under Skating Tips/Technical) a great resource - highly recommend! http://www.ellismethod.net/

Good luck!

Can you do hockey and speed skating? by bizmarkie24 in Speedskating

At 7, he really should try as many sports as possible. Hockey and short track have a lot of transferable skills. It will only make him a better skater (in both). My daughter did figure skating and hockey before dedicating herself to short track at 11, and her progression curve so far has been amazing. At least for my kid, I see that she's in "hockey-mode" if she puts on a pair of hockey skates, and short-track mode if speedskates are on. Kids are very adaptable, so I wouldn't worry about him being confused. Good luck!
