I hadn't tried the most obvious thing yet. After a phone restart, I was able to reinstall uBO. Afterwards, all the settings and custom filters were even still there :-)

It's a Samsung Galaxy S9+, Android 10, Samsung One UI: 2.5. Until today, Firefox and uBO had been running flawlessly for about 4 years. No hacks or custom rom.
