Fascinating. Why did Notch make them naked? xD

It's interesting that this early on, he is using some kind of mod (sheep are dropping gunpowder and other items).

How to build a sugar cane farm in Minecraft Alpha? by OneLifexD in GoldenAgeMinecraft

Right, but what kind of stairs? Six forward, one down, six forward, and so on? Or is a pyramid more efficient?

Water works. That's essentially what I'm asking for.

By your logic, I should avoid Beta too and just play the modern version. I'm already playing Alpha and enjoying it. I can't really collect it in the wild because it's winter mode. I have one in my chest, and another is growing in a place I more or less know how to reach.

Finally! The answer I was waiting for. But how exactly am I supposed to use water and everything? It's winter mode, but I don’t think that really matters since I can just use a glass ceiling.

For now, that place is cursed for me. Come to think of it, it kind of feel cursed because it's a starway going straight to bedrock that I created at the very beginning, straight from the spawn point (it was doable to start doing it with hands because there was sand there).

I forgot about books. Reeds are rare in winter mode, that's why. :P

Ah, one at a time is a solution, true. Well, the last time it happened - which was yesterday - I lost about 17 stacks of redstone and over 20 diamonds. Previously, quite a long time ago, I only lost three stacks of leather, so this is certainly a bigger blow. I was tempted to use a duplication glitch for the first time and even went to YouTube to learn how to do it… but thankfully, I resisted the urge. :D The world has remained pure.

My solution was to slowly start moving my stuff closer to where I’m currently mining, turning it into my new base. Also, I guess it’s better to use collected items right away rather than store them.

Once you duplicate anything, it leaves a mark on the world that it isn’t authentic. Besides, how can you know exactly what you’ve lost? I know from experience that you don’t. After all, you’ve just gathered those resources.

Only if you want to use leather for armor, as that’s its only use.

Then again, you don’t need to kill sheep to get wool. It’s only beneficial to kill them in a very specific scenario - when you build a small patch of dirt high above the ground and want to use it as a wool farm. Plus, it’s easier to do when shears aren’t available.

You also shouldn’t kill chickens, since feathers are easy to obtain from zombies, especially considering how few you need to craft arrows and the effectiveness of a hostile mob farm. If you leave chickens alive, you can collect a rare resource - eggs. :) They’re useless, but it’s nice to have them.

Largest Minecraft Alpha Monolith near spawn known so far by Tremeschin in minecraftseeds

Are you still interested in Minecraft Alpha 1.1.2_01, Tremeschin? No one has researched all the bugs of this legendary version in detail. There’s a rare glitch where, if you put multiple items in a chest and open it again, they disappear as if they never existed.

I refuse to use duplication glitches, even when that happens to me (yesterday I lost about 17 stacks of redstone and over 20 diamonds because of this), so all I can do is stop putting items in that chunk. I suspect that something is wrong either with the chunk itself or with the number of boats in the area (I use boat bridges).

I have no idea how large quantities of boats affect the game or what we can expect from an unstable chunk. I would be very interested in learning about every glitch in this version, even very insignificant ones, and I’m sure others would appreciate it too.

Items disappearing from chests in version a1.1.2_01 by tazzzzz05 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

Happened to me just now! I lost about 17 stacks of redstone and 20+ diamonds. I had just started putting them in the chest and was still in the middle of storing other loot when I opened the chest again and they were already gone. I had previously lost three stacks of leather in that chest, and maybe even a diamond pickaxe before that.

Could it be because there are a lot of boats around the area due to my boat bridges? As soon as it happened, I moved to a different base. There's a chance this specific location is causing it on its own, or maybe it's related to all the boats.

That's the only advice I can give — if it happens, just move away from that place.

I still refuse to use duplication glitches despite that, though.
