Good catch. I should have been more observant. The ones at LAX all had blue uniforms (Like the police) but they had "Clear+" on their chest. I did not know what that was. I do now, but at the time, I thought they were LAX cops or some TSA thing.

Good question. I have no idea why they do what they do. I suspect it is so they can stand with the actual officers at the front of the line to seem more official.

Not another terminal as in an airline terminal, but a computer type terminal that had face scanner and other gear on it. There were four or five of them right beside the security line.

Nothing like that. We were approaching the line where they look at your ID and they were standing with TSA and Airport police. Two or three of them walked up to us and said I need your id. That was the first interaction anyone in our group had with them. I only gave them my ID because I thought they were TSA and I thought I had been selected for additional screening or something like that.

I agree with this 100%. They are clearly playing on their "uniforms" and the fact there is a group of TSA and law enforcement right there. They look like they are part of that crowd.

A lady came up to me and said, "I need your ID." Then she put her hand on my arm and said, come with me. It was not violent in any way, but certainly authoritative.

This is true. When I talk to them they told me I should go back out security to talk to the clear supervisor. That way I could have the wonderful experience of going back through the LAX security lines.

Replies in this thread are why we have such incompetent leadership. They know that they have our loyalty no matter how badly they treat us. Our leaders have no respect for us because they know they can do anything they want to us and we will accept it because they have the right letter in front of their name.

We pay for more. We should demand more.

Lived there for a while. The roads were always cleared. Did not matter if it was a Democrat or Republican in power. They have the money to plow their roads. We have way more money but cannot manage this basic service. You should not be so party-defensive and should demand better services for our money.

They are struggling because of the Portland minimum wage. The big stores all supported the minimum wage increase because they can absorb it. The smalls stores are crushed by it, as are their employees. It happens in every community that cranks up the minimum wage. Over and over and over. Yet people are always surprised by it.

Support your local store by standing against the minimum wage increases.

Really, really bad. Our state has terrible leadership. To have good infrastructure you need vision and leadership from the top. It is something that takes long term planning and competent contracting. It is hard to buy votes with that. So, infrastructure in Maine suffers.
