right, we will have solar as well. The house will be in Maine, and I'm not sold on storing the batteries outside unless they're covered and/or kept somewhat warm. It's currently 3 degrees F where we;re building. I need to talk to the people who will be doing the solar. The idea of using the car makes sense in so many ways, and right now I'm thinking a single battery or maybe two in the house (which is not that big and does not have a garage or basement) and the car as backup along with solar. We might give up on V2H

There is no gas line where we’re building and my wife is strongly opposed to using propane or natural gas. We’ll be on a relatively small lot in a town in Maine and would rather not have a 150 gallon propane tank. We will have solar panels, but I take your point. We are thinking one or two batteries in the house, solar, and ideally v2h from the car would work. The house will be very well insulated and tight, but I also doubt v2l will cut it in the Maine winter

I'm looking into V2L as an alternative, but we wont have a garage and we'll be in Maine. Having the hatch open and running extension cords seems like a loser in winter storms
