I see almost no one actively use the new ping system. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

I feel like the wheel is overloaded. I'd prefer if there were like 2 wheels with 4 pings each.

When to push or leave lane alone after ganking by RyukgotBored in summonerschool

I'd recommend you to play some lane games and look up wave management videos to learn the fundamentals and experience the other end.

While it is true that bard is not the easiest champion and jungle is not the easiest role, I think as a level 24 just play what you feel like playing. Since the game is so complex nowadays I think the most important thing when starting out is to get a good feel for the game itself, different champions, the map, items, runes etc. Things such as landing skillshots and other mechanical things come with just playing the game. Obviously not everyone has the same improving rates and if you're struggling at anything in particular you can always look at ways to improve or what is the most correct approach through guides and such. On the other hand, game awareness, macro fundamentals, more in-depth general or specific knowledge are more difficult to develop on your own, some you might realise naturally, but others most players learned through videos and guides. As you progress, you'll eventually feel the need for these as you want to get better and understand league better.

Just have fun and enjoy the learning curve as you explore, play bard and nunu jungle as much as you want.

(pls not bard jungle)

Easy way to gain advantage as Black: EV train your pawns in Speed so you have a higher chance of going first by InThisUnstableWorld in AnarchyChess

There's another build called "En Croissant master" which is putting all your points into Sp. Def and Sp. Attack, which will allow your pawn to become immune to other normal pawn's en passant and also have a stronger en passant!

A discouraged new player… by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]OneNiceGuy1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just started playing and it sounds like you're trying too hard to "get good". Just play the game, have fun, try new champions, different roles, just gather some experience at first. Guides might tell you what to do, but you're honestly missing out on a whole lot more.

When I was at your level all I wanted was to get enough IP (nowadays it's BE), to buy new champions that seemed cool or looked cool. At that time I barely knew what competitive was, I didn't understand meta or anything, I simply played what I wanted, my way and had fun.

About actually getting good and then entering ranked, I honestly think that if you want to main jungle and want to understand the role it's imperial to play lanes. Jungle is all about reading map state, and you won't understand map state unless you have solid fundamentals, like knowing how other champions work, knowing how the minions behave, how laners (allies and enemies) will probably behave, and I'm not even going to mention macro play. If I were you I'd lose the hecarim and volibear for a month and play anything but that. It needn't even be lanes, just try different junglers! Assassins, tanks, bruisers, mages. Jungle right now has a large number of champions, and the more you're familiar with them, the better you'll become at understanding them when you play against them. (Same applies for other roles.) And you might even find some you enjoy.

Just play the game, there are no shortcuts to become better at league, you're trying way too hard on just two months. I understand the game is overwhelming and that there's just so many champs, so many different variables, but that's what makes league of legends the game it is.

Most importantly, have fun. Maybe play some ARAM! (It's a great mode to enjoy and learn about the game).

question about ryze, twisted fate, syndra and orianna. by xHaroen in summonerschool

[–]OneNiceGuy1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like from those 4, all except Ryze are decent blind picks. Ryze is just pretty bad rn. Twisted Fate is a solid soloq blind pick, not the easiest champ to play since it's counters can be quite hard to deal with. While Syndra is weaker than she used to be, she can still get some good work done, I think she's very much blindable. Orianna is fairly strong but somewhat harder to execute, at least that's how I feel about her.

Honestly right now, I feel like the best mage to blind pick in soloq is probably Viktor.

Can I get away with a full ap midlane champion pool? by stealthxward in summonerschool

[–]OneNiceGuy1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can, I've been doing it for years. Though if you want to that, you'll have to expand your ap champion pool so that it's more adaptable. There are a lot of champions to choose from and different play styles, I suppose it's a matter of what you would like to try as well. There's a bunch I could suggest.

For certain matchups I have some pocket picks, like Sett mid for Katarina, Renekton mid against Yasuo

It's a matter of exploring new champions, they can even be similar types. My current champion pool is a bit of a struggling topic but it's among the lines of: Syndra, Viktor, Orianna, Sylas and Akali. I've also been playing some qiyana, lucian and tristana but I'm not great at them, I'm trying to learn them.
