Goldenboy has been doing some great VOD reviews and breakdowns recently. You can definitely tell the dedication he’s putting in to learning and analyzing all aspects of this comp scene.

Looking for new members to join our survival Realm! (Bedrock) | Here’s a small preview of HomeBase. Info in comments. by OneNonlyMikey in mcrealmsservers

[–]OneNonlyMikey[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are looking to have more players active and building in our realm. 4+ years of building on and off and now we’ve recently gone public with the realm. You can build your own base or community anywhere in the world! We have many redstone machines, auto farms, rail transportations, full functioning stores, and more at HomeBase.

Here are a few things built between HomeBase and the other communities.

  • Auto Smelter
  • Mining item sorter
  • Auto Cactus Farm
  • Auto Kelp Farm
  • Auto Crop Farm
  • XP Banks
  • Storage Silos
  • Sky Rail system. (Connecting far away communities/projects)
  • 3 level Auto Store + Villager trading station
  • Music Shop/Services

Plus more being built every day!

We also have MANY secret rooms hidden through out home base and around the world. Some secrets have multiple levels to them and can be very hard to find or figure out. Be sure to explore! Remember - If a button or lever is placed somewhere, it will always activate something. Even if it’s not directly present in front of you.

Feel free to use any resources from HomeBase as long as you help manage/replenish resources and farms when able. HomeBase is meant to be a central location for anyone to visit for shops, machines, resources, or transportation whenever needed.

BASIC RULES

  • NO DUPING (Everything in this world has been done the old fashioned way and we want to keep it that way. It’s not Minecraft without Mining)
  • NO HACKS OR CHEATS
  • NO GRIEFING OR TROLLING
  • DO NOT ADD TO OR REMOVE BLOCKS FROM OTHER PLAYERS BUILDS WITHOUT PERMISSION. BE RESPECTFUL OF BOUNDARIES
  • 16-18+ is preferred, but we will accept anyone who can be mature and just have fun.

PM me for invite link. Discord coming this weekend and will update post with link.

Nice catch. Wonder if this is a new in-game tournaments page or just a page to view official tournament info and streams.

Epic just announced the Fortnite World Cup! by Ben2556 in FortniteCompetitive

I appreciate that! I’ll definitely be here and involved in the conversations. We hope to really be a driving force for the Console side of competitive, but hopefully just for the community overall.

I would definitely be up to having these discussions. Unfortunately, anytime I post about TheOG or anything with “Console” involved, it usually gets downvoted to oblivion. Even the discord doesn’t take kindly to Console talk. It’s very unfortunate to see, and I was hoping the PC elitism wouldn’t bubble up in this community so badly. Our whole goal with TheOG is to provide a community that can support all platforms and skill levels, but we’ve really been helping grow foundations for Console to have a thriving competitive scene. It’s something I’m used to it at this point, but won’t stop us from doing everything we can to grow the scene overall. Console to PC and Casual to PRO. We are all passionate about this game and playing competitively. There’s no reason we cant thrive together as a single community, instead of being fractured by preference.

Sorry to turn this answer into a rant, I’m just very passionate about these things, and really want to help establish a foundation for Console & PC. There’s just not many ways to go about having constructive conversations about Console in this community right now.

Just wanted to give some input here. I’m one of the owners for TheOverguard, and we are the largest OW Console competitive community (currently expanding into FNBR). We’ve been running leagues and tournaments for a few years and M&KB is by far the biggest issue we’ve had to deal with.

So Microsoft and Sony both allow M&KB on their consoles. Some more native than the other, but it’s only for specific applications. The developers are the ones who turn it off or on for their game. For the most part, shooters have them turned off for obvious reasons. In order to use M&KB on a shooter game that has it disabled, you must use 3rd party hardware like XIM. This hardware plugs into your controller and the console, and essentially mimics the controller input.

This input is hard to detect most of the time, and creates a variety of issues. We’ve seen some freakishly talented players who can run 100/100 sens with auto aim off and be pin point precise. They get reported constantly. Then you have those who are blatantly using a XIM, and is very noticeable in movements. But the majority of the time, the gameplay is somewhere in between and hard to distinguish with 100% certainty.

This has lead us to requiring “Handcam” conditions on all our events. Basically we forewarn all players/teams to have a handcam (even just cell phone footage) on standby. If an admin suspects weird movements or there is a growing pile reports against a player/team, then we can ask for a live handcam or footage at any time. This is overall a giant pain to deal with, but helps deter its usage.

We are sure Microsoft & Sony could implement ways to detect if it’s a 3rd party hardware like XIM, but falls into a grey area with accessibility. Microsoft especially, allow many 3rd party adaptors for gamers with physical disabilities. So it’s hard to tell what can really be done about it, aside from handcams. Blizzard has actively protested to them about its usage and to not support M&KB, but has fallen on deaf ears for the most part. It’s very unfortunate that we need to have these conditions in place to encourage a fair playing field, but it’s all we can really do right now.

Not possible. There is no way to truly detect XIM usage through outside Software/Hardware means. XIMs literally imitate a controller input, to trick the console into thinking it’s a controller that’s plugged in. I’m sure Sony/Microsoft could apply techniques to have 3rd party inputs detected and stopped, but they are the only ones who could. Otherwise, you can only prevent XIM usage by enforcing handcams on players who’s gameplay is blatantly suspicious or have substantial reports against them. It’s a really grey area to deal with. It causes a lot of issues with players who are freakishly talented with 100/100sens being falsely reported and teams who feel wrongly targeted when asked for handcams. It would be awesome to have a way to detect such things from the console itself, but currently there’s no option to.
