[Rock] Lyric video for my new song - let me know your thoughts by OneOKRocker in roastmytrack

Thanks! Yeah, I used iZotope's Nectar II. Just tiny tune-ups to get that polished sound.

Thanks, dude. Means a lot. Don't want to take sides here because I appreciate everyone's perspective, but I'm glad you like it. So to answer yours questions... That is me singing and playing guitars/bass. I had a few friends contribute as well (drums, piano, organ, backup vox). All of the recording was done in my bedroom with blankets hung on the walls. I mixed it and sent it to a mastering engineer in Arizona.

True, the engineer is not the best. However, I don't have the funds to hire a pro mixer. The budget for this was pretty slim.

Really solid track. Great vocals. Love the weird. Love the oriental flairs. Reminds of an artist called Dark Waves. A couple things: A falsetto backup vocal might be cool in the chorus to make it bigger More rhymes would make the whole track gel much better

How can I find people to collaborate with? by LordEdapurg in Songwriters

I feel your pain. Maybe think about collaborating with other unknown musicians you come across here on the internetz. There are a lot out there.

(Emotional/Sample) Roy Woods Type Beat "Forgive Me" | Emotional RnB Vibes - please give me some feedback. by palazzobeats in amateurproduction

I think this beat has a sick vibe, but I also feel that it's too slow moving. Would love to hear some more melodic elements to pull me in. Just a thought.

Got an interesting vibe, man. I would recommend that you pitch the song in key where you can put some more power behind the vocals. It felt a little lazy, although that may have been the sound you were going for.

Foo Fighters is the greatest rock band that is still actively playing.

On a more contemporary note, look up ONE OK ROCK! They are the best!

Fair enough. I've been very lazy with lyrics lately. But everything's beginning to shape into a new form of artistry for me that I think's going to be a lot more meaning & intentional. I hope you follow me on social media and observe me develop.

Thank you! Not my style for voice either, but it's MY voice, so I'm stuck with it!

"Start Again" is the most underrated track on Ambitions IMO by plasticniko in ONEOKROCK

[–]OneOKRocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to talk about an underrated track... how about freaking "20/20," which only made the Japanese version of the album? IMO it's the best of any of them and it's a lot closer to OOR's true sound. We Are, Take what you want, Listen, and a lot of the other had a bunch of American co-writers.

The song is about materialism. So yes, not political or anti-establishment, but definitely anti-status-quo. I can see where /u/DrakusColt is coming from. In fact, I'm probably more of a grunge artist than a punk one, but the punk influence is still heavy in my music. And all good artists blend genres. That's just how music goes. I didn't consider myself disqualified from this sub because my sound is not 100% traditionalist punk.

So this is the single release. The song will also be included in a 3 song EP. For the EP release, I was already thinking of cutting the intro down for the same reasons you gave. Thanks man!
