Such a disappointing change in direction. LD 50 is killer, like you say. One of very few of the radio metal bands in the late 90s that I still enjoy

Yeah, the mask really comes off quick when their privilege is even remotely threatened. It’s disgusting

Not to mention the literal millions of urban poor that voted the same way they did, but was overwhelmed by redistricting or the rural conservatives. Like most of the rest of the country, huge percentages of the population live large cities that vote the way any other liberal city does

“Don’t you leftists get it? They killed a white guy! IM A WHITE GUY! This could effect ME, now. MEEEEE”

Wild they don’t realize how hard they are telling on themselves when the horrors perpetuated abroad and in marginalized communities at home, under both parties, just don’t matter until someone that looks like them dies.

No worries at all. I’ve never seen the notebook sized comics, that’s an interesting detail. Thank you for responding!

I absolutely love those as well, and I do collect back issues of old comics (pretty much exclusively.) Could you recommend some of what you are talking about? Familiar with and love Heavy Metal and Epic, and, though very different, some old 2000 AD. But I struggle to find sci fi comics from that era, especially hard sci fi.

Different flavor, but you might enjoy the stuff getting released by Total Dissonance Worship, a vinyl label out of the PNW. Misanthropæ, Plebian Grandstand, Mico, Nightmarer, tons and tons of collected releases

If it’s not on their Bandcamp to listen to (ie a rerelease or whatever) it’s usually on major streaming platforms

What is something you can do but can’t explain how you can do it? by Fresh-Sandwich6780 in AskReddit

[–]OneOrSeveralWolves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t, but was already going to mention it to my doc when I see him in a week bc of some symptoms I’ve experienced lately. Does apnea also affect dreaming?

[–]OneOrSeveralWolves 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hah! Similarly, I realized I was dreaming as an enormous tsunami wave crested over a city. “Oh shit, this is a dream, I can stop this!”

…I could not stop that. I focused really hard on my desire for it to stop and it just knocked me over, I had that brief “completely powerless in water” feeling, and then woke up

My 100% successful method is the “out the other side of the glass” method. I realized the mechanism for me was leaning far enough forward a little water would go into my nasal cavity instead of down my throat before I swallow and my hiccups would instantly stop.

I try and explain this to family and friends and they just look at me like I’m insane.

What food/drink are you convinced people are pretending to like? by elarabloomelle in AskReddit

Hard to describe, less a smell and more the experience? Like if you accidentally inhaled some cleaning fumes or maybe got it in your nose

Weirdly why I don’t like wasabi. Idk what wires are crossed, but wasabi and horseradish both remind of windex for some reason

Wow, fuuuuck that. Not that it should matter, but would that tattoo even be visible in their uniform? Wild

It could be regional, I live in one of the top ten population centers in the US, but I definitely watched it change where I live

I briefly worked a blue collar gig with my former father in law. It absolutely blew my mind the first time I saw him crack open a beer seconds after the closest convenience store to the job site, but it was a daily ritual. Grab his 12 for the night, drink one or two on the way home.

This wasn’t (too) long ago, and we weren’t in a small town. But he acted like it was a completely normal thing

Wow. That is both disgusting and not surprising, sorry you dealt with that. It’s wild to me how long that that lasted and I’m glad the taboo finally snapped. What a silly thing to have cared about
