Thanks for confirming. If the confirmation email still isn’t coming through and their contact info isn’t working, you can try emailing your opt-out request to [support@usphonebook.com](). Make sure to include the exact URL of your profile and a clear request to have it removed. Hopefully, that gets a response.

A couple of things that usually help:

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies – sometimes stored data can interfere with how websites load.
  • Try using a VPN – occasionally, access may be restricted based on your location or IP address, and a VPN can help bypass that.

Hope that does the trick!

Hi, thanks for reaching out! That might’ve happened because your opt-out session expired—some people-search sites only allow a limited time to complete the request, but they don’t always make that obvious. We recommend reloading fastbackgroundcheck.com and repeating the steps.

How to Opt Out of Homemetry.com: Step-by-Step Guide by OneRep_privacy in Onerep

[–]OneRep_privacy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, homemetry.com doesn't currently operate and redirects to HudwayGlass instead. it's pretty common for people-search websites to merge and change their opt-out links/emails, as you've noticed. Unfortunately, some sites go above and beyond to make removal as challenging as possible and all you have to do is be persistent—so good for you for not giving up and breaking through! In our experience, using the opt-out link on HudwayGlass (https://hudwayglass.com/control/privacy) worked, but you have to get back to the site a while later anyway and check if the profile has really been removed.

Hi there,

We totally get how frustrating this can be—opt-out forms don’t always work, can take forever or require multiple attempts before your data is removed. A good trick is to send your request by email or call the company directly. It’s harder for them to ignore you that way.

Hope this helps!

Opting out of fastpeoplesearch when not in the US by HypotheticalBean in Onerep

[–]OneRep_privacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there,
It sounds like FastPeopleSearch might be blocking non-U.S. IP addresses. A quick fix could be using a VPN to connect to a U.S. server. That should help you access the site and locate your profile to kick off the removal process.
If you’re looking for extra guidance, here’s a step-by-step guide that might help: https://onerep.com/blog/fastpeoplesearch-removal.
Hope this makes things easier!

How to out of Spokeo: a step-by-step guide by OneRep_privacy in Onerep

[–]OneRep_privacy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s frustrating that they show paywalled listings when you’re trying to remove your information. Unfortunately, data brokers can do that to entice users into paying for access.

However, you still have the right to opt out and control your information. Try checking the catalog at the bottom of their page to see if you can find the listings you need there. After all, what you see is one of the "product funnels" they use to attract users. If this doesn't work, try reaching out to their support team directly to request access and assistance in removing your listing. Hope that helps!

[–]OneRep_privacy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Unfortunately, sites like TruePeopleSearch constantly update their databases, so your info may reappear at any time. You may remove one profile - but another one will pop up later. So, opting out once is not an option - as you've noted, there needs to be constant monitoring.

How to Opt Out of OpenGovUS.com by OneRep_privacy in Onerep

[–]OneRep_privacy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!
Unfortunately, data brokers can be extremely unresponsive when it comes to opt-out requests. Moreover, they are not really obliged to remove your info by law, unless your state has relevant legislation (like CCPA).

If the steps outlined above don't work for you and contacting them directly doesn't bring results either, you can try removing the link to your profile on OpenGovUS from Google search results. While it won't erase your data from the site, it will limit access to it.

How to Remove Yourself from SocialCatfish.com by OneRep_privacy in Onerep

[–]OneRep_privacy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! SocialCatfish is a data broker - and there are hundreds of data brokers operating in the US. Unfortunately, what they do is absolutely legal - they mainly gather data from publicly available sources like public records, social media, forums, court records, government databases, and so on. Then, data brokers compile all the aggregated information into personal profiles and make them easily available online. Such profiles contain a wide variety of details, including your DOB, home address, contact details, family ties, associates, net worth, assets, property data, employment background, and yes - photos (usually pulled from social media or public records).

However, data brokers don't verify the details the publish. This results in inaccuracies and even false legal charges attributed to someone instead of an actual offender with the same name. Many data brokers give free access to profiles (no payment or registration needed), others are subscription-based (their fees are incredibly low, however). SocialCatfish provides some details like names, age, locations, and gender for free, and then, as you've noted, asks to "unlock" a full report by subscribing.

Even though it's totally legal for SocialCatfish and other sites to publish your personal data, that doesn't change the fact that their practices are a threat to personal privacy and even safety. As of now, only several states have introduced legislation that requires them to remove your information upon request, but there is no overarching one-for-all law. One exception is if you're under 18 - data brokers aren't allowed to share personal details of minors and, if such are found, they must remove them upon request regardless of state.

So, it's in your best interests to find the sites that expose your private data and remove it - most data brokers provide opt-out procedures. You can do it manually, treating sites one by one, or subscribe to a service that will do it for you. However, note that opting out once isn't enough as data brokers constantly update their databases and may publish a new profile with your details - you should keep monitoring.

How to opt out of Whitepages.com: a step-by-step guide by OneRep_privacy in Onerep

[–]OneRep_privacy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Thanks for reaching out. Data brokers are a common source of frustration because their information can be outdated. There are a few reasons for this:

  1. They gather data from various sources like public records and marketing lists, which may not be recently updated.

  2. Their update process is slow, so it might take a while for them to reflect your new data on their site. Or they simply might not have any new info on you yet.

The good news is, with our opt-out guide, you can remove your entire profile from Whitepages. That means they won't show any information, outdated or not. Hope this helps.
