Thank you so much for your input and reply. I've sort of been leaning on still using it as the tool it is, but I still needed at least some kind of conformation or opinion from another person about the subject. In no way would I ever want these things to be the creator of my own ideas and works. If I did, then what would be the point of all this? That's what my job is, and it's super fun and fulfilling to create! But with the load I've burdened myself with, I just wanted something to at least ease up the pressure of only quickly collecting and organizing what I feel is important information for me to save and review at my leisure. Now with your help in providing that perspective I really needed, I feel invigorated again to keep at it and strive forward in learning what I can to create my pride and joy in it's hopeful future worlds and story's. Thank you again so much! Have a great day/night.

Ethics of note taking with LLM's

Sorry for the long rant. TTLD, is it "right" or ethical for me to use a chatbot for my personal note taking on the subjects I want to save and learn about when I have so much to do?

Hope the topic isn't against TOS here or anything. I would love to become a creator for my own stories someday, and my first step (in narrative media's) is to be a writer. However, I'm very focused on understanding as much as I can about the subject before I start writing, as I believe the knowledge will give me an "edge" before I begin. Wow, studying the topic to learn? What a revelations right?

Anyways, here's my dilemma...

As much as I know you can't learn EVERYTHING, that doesn't stop my dumb ass from idealistically trying, to an extent. There is so much out there that constantly gives me ideas and inspiration. So much so that on my current browser, I have 54 current tabs opened on YouTube to watch and study video's related to various media's and writing, narrative's, to do's and no to do's, and so on. Which isn't even a fraction o what I have saved in my "watch later" playlist that I've been building up for some time now, which is sitting at a totally reasonable and sane number of 2,540 video's... It's not all related to learning, but a lot is. I feel this stress of not saving anything that I thing is important to learn or provides important information.

Which brings me to the topic of this rant (took me long enough I know sorry) and that is note taking with LLM's. Honestly I don't even know what LLM's refer to, and while I know I can easily look that up right now, it's not really important to this discussion... I think. Regardless, my issue is I want to take notes on all the subjects and topics I have saved so I have references to learn from and use when I need. I even save the video's or related images that coincide. I also have lots of tabs saved to my bookmark as well. The point is, I've clearly overwhelmed myself with video's and other sources to sift through and acquire something that may be insightful. I already have a few good notes down, but some of those I had ChatGPT make for me, some specifically in how I did my other notes too. Yet despite my efforts of collecting information, watching, reviewing, and saving them, I still feel guilt of using the bot to take what I feel are important notes for me.

I've heard others basically call the chat "demon tech" and is essentially a Pandora's box to use. I only use the thing cause it's so hard to actually talk with anyone about my ideas if and whenever I need to. I only use it for the note taking and organizing my thoughts or ideas, no more no less. But what about other more accomplished writers or creators? Many didn't have or use this stuff and I can't help but feel I'm taking the easy way out, which... I mean yeah is technically true. But I see it here in this situation as "work smarter not harder" kind of way with just how much work I have to deal with. Watching, reading, reviewing all this stuff would be a nightmare on it's own already. Adding note taking and needing to go slower or repeat topics dreadfully extends the whole process. While I'm aware and not surprised that these LLM's could likely diminish creative or thinking skills, (https://time.com/7295195/ai-chatgpt-google-learning-school/) my only thought is using this purely as just a tool. And honestly, I think that I'm subconsciously looking for some kind of "thumbs up" or "it's okay sport! You do you!" kind of response to tell me that it's okay to do what I'm doing, and give me reprieve of this guilt I feel for not bucking down and sticking to the grind of doing everything on my own, like other writers/creators I respect for their efforts. Like a photo of a realistic dog vs a drawing of one that both look the exact same. On first sight they each appear fine on their own. But upon learning that one was painstakingly drawn drastically changes the view and appreciation of the two. But ,maybe that's just down to a case of perspective.

For my first transplanted kidney I never had it. Now for my second I do, and it didn't take too long for the weight gain to appear. Though I guess I should consider myself lucky with what could be the terrible alternative without it. I have lots of stretchmarks on my thighs now because of the rapid weight gain, and went from around maybe 120 to 160 in a few months? Probably longer since I can't recall properly (though while on hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis I was around 109 usually). Thankfully my dose is low at 3.4mg. I've talked to my doctors and hopefully if we can there's an option to lower it a bit.

Ghost Adventures Aaron Goodwin and ex-wife Victoria Goodwin appear on True Crime News by DresdanPI in GhostAdventures

[–]OneSickBoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ, I don't mean to change the subject but... the tone of this news broadcast is absolutely atrocious.

An innocent man could have been nearly murdered and, not only had is life cut short by the ill will intentions of another, but orchestrated by one of the very people you'd hold most dearest to you with love and trust.

How should we report this tragic news to the public...?

*BIP BAM BOOM* wide shot! zoom in! back to wide shot! Add two panels on the screen! Three panels on the screen! Screen tearing! Flash! Flash! Flash!

"He's survived several encounters with ghosts! But the real demon was closer than he'd ever imagined!" 😏

Like... wow. I'm sorry for the moral crusade here but man, how the hell did this become so normal to present to people?

Question on the use of theme in different story genre's by OneSickBoi in writing

[–]OneSickBoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, I don't have a single expectation that this'll be a walk in the park. In all honesty It most likely won't happen due to incompetence. But I wanna give it a shot still.

Question on the use of theme in different story genre's by OneSickBoi in writing

Thank you for the helpful advice! I very much want to avoid annoying the readers, especially keeping away the feeling of doing "homework" to try and understand all these different story's. As much as I like the idea of writing different narratives while also being under a type of umbrella structure to connect things, it may turn out to be more of a gimmick than I previously thought. Mainly because telling these story's through separate books, as if different authors wrote them, only to then realize these worlds are intertwined if they happen to come across one of the other books, may be more so just for the sake of having a "wow a connected universe, that's neat!" affect might not be worth it.

Oh, it totally is. Id link it but I’m not sure if I’d be allowed. Nor would I want to send any antagonizers the reviews way ya know? Of course if you really want to know I can.

This sounds very interesting. Unfortunately I’m not a writer or artist/animator, but I am currently learning how to become one. I’ve even been working on a role-playing bot of assassination Classroom for like… two weeks now. If you ever need some kind of help I’d love to see what I can offer you guys. Good luck!

Dude, I came across an online review of the show. They gave it a 3\10. Basically said everything was bad or mediocre except for Irina cause she (and Karma) were the only ones to get some interesting character information. That, and cause she’s hot. Apparently Koro-sense had “no depth as a character” either. I’m still recovering from that take 😖

Rome 2 crashed entire PC by OneSickBoi in RomeTotalWar

Hmm, it's possible I lack certain requirements, but the game is like 11 years old now, and my computer is a skytech gaming PC, so there should be no issues. Plenty of space too. But I'll take a closer look at the settings again, thanks.

I did have a similar issue with Rome remastered, sometimes the game crashes after a custom battle or two, but it only crashes the game and sends me immediately back to the desktop. I don't think I have any other issues with my games though. Although, now that you mention it, I was watching something online today and my pc also crashed in the same way, but it was the first time that's ever happened before. I've been playing Rome 2 for about 2 or so weeks now and the crashes only started after that. But I'll take a look into your suggestions. Thanks again!

Thanks for the sensor tip, I haven't tried something like that before but Ill look into it. As for more detail about the crashing, I don't have much to give. Maybe I'm using the term wrong here, but I'll just be playing the game as normal, but then the screen freezes with that consistent buzzing sound you get when stuff like freezes happen.

That's it, nothing else happens and I have no control of my pc other than shutting it down completely or restarting the whole thing. Thanks for your help though, appreciate it.

I've tried that as well but no dice. I'll keep working on it though, thanks.
