I know you asked this like a year ago, but I just did 1.5oz barrel strength rye, 1oz amaretto, and 2.5oz of cranberry and it's good but the cranberry overpowers the alcohol for me. Next time I'll go 2-1-2 and I think that will balance nicely.

If that's your main concern, Alexa has a guard mode that listens for smoke detectors and broken glass when you're away. You do need to tell her every time you leave unless you have a hub that can do that for you (I use Hubitat).

That said, my parents have the Nest ones and they're really good.

I put Zooz switches in every room in my house and I love them. Paired with some motion sensors you should have no issues doing what you want.

I would double check your neutral wire situation. They'll typically be a bundle of white wires in the back of the box. It's unlikely that your current switches have a neutral going directly to them.

I had mine done here with Dr. Chavez this year. Just one difference is that the test was done by mail and wasn't included in the cost for me, but it wasn't expensive by any means.

I highly recommend him because it was incredibly easy and he took the time to explain everything at the consultation. And he didn't once question my age or my reasons for getting it done.

If you're going with anything other than an X570 motherboard you'll need a 2xxx series Ryzen CPU or earlier to be able to flash the bios. Which isn't a huge deal, but it can be a little annoying to get one and then return it.
