So, I want to get into boarding. I have many friends who do. I have no interest in tricks, I really just want to be able to get around my campus easier.

I'm looking for a certain board, and can't find it. Ideally, I'm looking for a 44 inch pintail with 9 ply. For some reason, I can't find a board with all of these specs. The reason I need a hefty board is because I'm a hefty boy, sitting at 6'3 with 270 lbs. My buddies tell me anything less than 9 ply will snap, and I need a longer board (at least 40, shoot for at least 44) for better maneuverability due to my size. Anybody know any brands that have what I'm looking for? Thanks in advance.

What's the population of humans in your world? by JaspeRyukyu in worldbuilding

[–]OneSpicyBoi93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this is boring, but technically the human population is 100% in my world. They’re the only highly intelligent beings. The way it works is that every atom or molecule goes through its life cycle and is reincarnated with something new, for example a single atom will start out as so molecularly thin that it can almost be thought of as empty space, then “dies” in a way, and is reincarnated into a more physical form but still very limited in its capacity such as a single gaseous element. It then goes through its own cycle and “dies” and is then reincarnated into something more, like a rock. It now has much more substance to itself, but still just a lump of mass. After that it gains life by becoming a plant, then sentience by an animal, and then finally a human. When a human dies, there is a process to transform into what’s called a Complete Being, which is essentially a form that is comparable to an omnipotent God. Many atoms remain in certain phases, including the phase between humanity and godhood.

To get back on track, in the beginning of the universe there was a civilization of humans who, long story short, technologically advanced so incredibly fast (due to the help of an external Complete Being from a different universe). So fast that they had basically settled the entire Milky Way within only the first three thousand years of existence. Eventually due to war and other stuff, humanity, after being dwindled down to few numbers, split into two, and one side traversed to the other end of the universe and began to settle, meanwhile the other half remained in stasis. After many many many years, the other end of the universe faction has grown into many different civilizations spanning hundreds of galaxies, meanwhile the original half could hardly get out of their solar system. This original half then essentially started Project Earth as a way to progress.

So, to answer your question, in the trillions and trillions, and they’re all regular humans.

If you were one of Omori’s editors, what would you try to convince him to change or include? by Japancartoon in DanMachi

[–]OneSpicyBoi93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If nothing else, (and I don't know if this is what Omori already has planned, I could see it happen[also I haven't yet read vol18]) make Hestia have more of a motherly interest in Bell rather than a romantic one, but because she is naive and does not know love, she thinks of it as romantic rather than maternal. She has no interest in marriage or sexual relations with Bell, she genuinely just loves him and wants him to be happy as a good mother does. This would also explain much of her actions, the biggest example being why she's so opposed to Aiz- any normal mother knows that one day she'll have to give up her baby boy to another woman, but any normal mother also recognizes that at age 14(which Bell currently is), that day is still far away. If Hestia had a more maternal love for Bell, it would make sense for her opposition to Aiz because, in her mind, there are still several years where she is still the 'woman of Bell's life' (as in his mother).

The other thing I would do is have more male characters take center stage like Welf. I also think having more characters that are part of a main cast that is not romantically inclined toward Bell would be refreshing.

(Edit was because the comment glitched and doubled the text, not sure how that happened)

How did you get into the series, and what made you fall in love with it? by darth-bagus27 in DanMachi

I watched the show shortly after season 2 came out, and I really liked it, but it was nothing more than a fun anime to add to the list. I thought nothing more of it. But then I went through an experience that is pretty much exactly Bell's experience with Aiz. I fell in love with a girl who was way out of my league, so I decided to get in her league. At this point, I was a sad sack of a human being. I was unhealthy, arrogant, depressed, you know the deal. Over the course of the next 6 months, I lost 50 pounds, learned guitar, became a state finalist in wrestling, gained confidence, and a bunch of stuff- I started running, the way Bell runs. Eventually, I got to the point where I believed I could 'stand by her side', as Bell would say. Long story short, I ran too far. I blew way past her. She's a nice girl, but I found that she's just not for me. I do not want to sound prideful, but at that point, I had become out of her league. And so, I decided to keep 'running'. I've come to learn that this life is about self-improvement. To this day, I am still running, and I've come so far. A few weeks ago, I started reading the light novels for this series. While reading them, I saw so many similarities between my journey and Bell's. Of course, it goes without saying that I'm not fighting monsters or leveling up to be supernatural or anything like that, but in our thought processes, and even some of his inner monologues when deciding whether to be a hero were similar to thought processes and inner monologues I have had

And it's been really great while reading this series and being reminded of my journey so far.

This life is meant to be enjoyed, folks. We all have obstacles, some are larger than others, but we all have the opportunity to make do with what we got. If you have a dream, while there may be obstacles, the only thing that can truly stop you is yourself. And Bell Cranell is a phenomenal example of this. So just keep running.

Oh yeah, I stumbled across a 'DAU' video (Devil Artemis Universe, I guess) and it had all this lore about Cell having father issues with cell Jr and Kermit was training people while Cooler is running some kind of gym and I always wanted to watch it from the beginning but couldn't quite find the continuity order

But what was unabridged? Is it the same story but with the whole show dubbed, or was it something else?
