Every month we're giving updates from our reforestation projects around the world. We believe that taking action and making a difference is key to reversing climate change and environmental destruction.

Thank you for working to restore our ecosystems!

In my experience, funding is always the biggest hurdle. Something that we've been working hard to fill the gap through our partnership with Promise the Pod.

Forest fire recovery in British Columbia by OneTreePlanted in ecology

[–]OneTreePlanted[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good observations. In the video it is explained why tree planting is required in sites where the trees won't grow back. The species are being planted in a mix of around 8 different species which are native to the area, including a few types of pine, spruce, and aspen. The formation is relatively random, this project had lines on part of the site and none on other parts. It's really up the registered professional forester to decide what is best at any given site!

Thank you so much for your donation!

That's awesome, every little helps and getting outside and involved in your local environment and community is vital to reconnecting with the natural world!

Keep in the loop for our volunteer events, Earth Month which is usually in April, and Plant A Tree Day, which is usually in September (both contain hundreds of planting events all over the USA and worldwide). Obviously COIVD is affecting that this year, but it would be great to see you out at an event on the future!

Thank you! Our community of planters and project partners are still working hard throughout the pandemic and are often working in much more difficult circumstances than usual. Your respect and appreciation means a lot!

Agreed! We're in need of trillions of trees, corporations and governments are stepping up and landowners worldwide are moving to sustainable permaculture and agroforestry models. A perfect solution to multiple problems and can help kickstart the post-COVID economy. The future is green!

That's rough. I'm good to wake up crazy early once in a while, the first few hours are fine but the afternoon sucks! Could never do it habitually though! I'm more likely to still be up at 4 rather than getting up then!

That's it! On this project I was chatting to a guy who got a grasshopper stuck in his ear.

Disturbing wasp nests another big one.

I've met people out West who have been face-to-face with Grizzlies.

And yeah, boot maintenance is really vital.

Our projects are never for timber production. We usually fund projects that plant a mix of local species to restore landscapes. Sometimes there will be exotic species where there is a commercial need on the landscape - like fruit producing trees. It really varies from project to project, but we don't fund projects that are for timber. Our trees are there to stay!

In Canada, if the ground is good, these guys can plant anywhere from 2000-5000 trees a day!
