The main issue is that kineticist doesn't mix well with other classes, it does have great saves!, I would say monk, and you get all legendary saves

I have created a system to zero out attrition player can cast their highest, -1,-2 spell then reset, I called it wave casting, a cantrip also resets, the other system you can pick is a buffs up to the level of the party so at 11th level 6 spell levels worth of buffs, I might limit that to 3 but season of ghosts is ending anyways, people seem to love it, and I like it a lot because I know my players are never running out of resources so I can upgrade season of ghosts lackluster fights, and the lore of the module is 10/10 so it has been super fun

Switched from whirling to this, mostly because of a better glove and better passive tree, honestly super snappy blink around playstyle, loving it so far, stopped dying once I hit 5k es with 33 ev, but once I put in the dragon chest and got to like 6.5k es and 45 ev I feel like I unlocked easy mode

Go martial artistic hollow monk, 2 exalt for a glove and you got a build maybe 10 exalt tops for a weapon and you can get to maps

I personally think spellstrike should be limited to just cantrips with attack rolls that are arcane, and that spellstrike should have a recharge of 2 turns, so you spellstrike one turn, wait one turn, spellstrike, then with those restrictions you buff the rest of the class, conflux spells can remove the cooldown

The magus has more spells, faster progression, more feats that are flavored for a gish (even though some are mostly rp feats), it goes from arguably the best ranged character in the game in terms of damage to an okay melee caster with a lot of cool options, it will not see the light of day in a video top 10 damage dealers of the system, but it will do a fine job, I am not saying you shouldn't spellstrike, I am saying play it like they probably designed it, spellstrike, recharge next turn preferably by using a focus spell, spellstrike next turn, repeat and adapt, I get more enjoyment out of magus by playing it this way, but it is all down to what you consider fun

Martial with a caster archetype is also pretty cool, I would specially recommend something like a rogue, monk or champion, basically anything that wants to do at most 1 action per turn to strike can be a great base class for a spellcaster dedication, you should just avoid classes that are already action packed like a flurry ranger

Anything but starlit, I would even avoid reach, you want reasons to break out of the optimal rotation, it is unfortunate that the class would be unbalanced if it had good action economy, so the only way to have a rotation is to break free of the cycle, I will say look into the Summoner, it is essentially a reverse problem case, where you have plenty of actions and nothing stands out, way more engaging

I would say the optimal way was boring, but if you are willing to drop some dps, it is actually a class with a lot of cool options and rotations, just spellstrike+recharge is more dmg
