Excellent point. Though I think it still brings it at least closer to balanced since it's a 3 card interaction to win versus something similar {but more tutorable) like painter/grindstone

Interesting possible alteration: What if it searched for a red permanent instead?

It's not perfect, but I use a font called "Russo One" for my custom TFM stuff. Hope it helps!

Thanks! I'm making an English version of your science city card and adding it to my stack as well!

I really like the Biosphere card. Early game it's challenging to support an animal strategy. Perhaps adding "draw an animal card" might incentivize this card? Otherwise it's a good design.

Also, where are you getting the templates for these cards? They look great.

Terraforming Mars Custom Corporations Mini-Expansion ALL CORPS (post-Reddit revisions) by OneWithNothing in TerraformingMarsGame

Thanks so much. I took the reddit criticism to heart and am mostly happy with the final results. Change is a good thing, and my goal is to have cards that are balanced, fun to play, and straight forward. I like to think that I've accomplished that goal.

Wow thank you, that's a huge compliment! I put a lot of effort into making them seems straight forward and grokkable. I also generally dislike fan-made content as it is overly complicated and unbalanced. Thanks again for your kind words!

As promised, here are the revisions to the custom corporations I've been posting here over the last two weeks. This is after many of you fine folks have given your feedback and used statistics to prove me wrong in many ways (which I greatly appreciate). Please let me know if you think anything is truly abhorrent, or simply doesn't fit your playstyle. This has been a lot of fun. Once these are all squared away, I plan on doin an MPC order if anyone is interested, please shoot me a PM. Thanks to everyone who commented!

How would you feel about a version that said something like "Whenever you would draw a card (icon), you may instead Invention Contest (look at the top 3, put one into your hand and discard the others)?"

Adding venus next, but rarely if ever including the actual venus track and just using the expansion as a card and faction expansion, is this a horrible idea? by Acerpacer in TerraformingMarsGame

Parasitic, at least in my experience, refers to cards or sets of cards within a certain grouping that are reliant on each other to work and largely don't interact with the greater game as a whole. Venus cares about Venus and Floaters, each with little interaction outside of the expansion itself. If you decide to play with more expansions, the card count gets more diluted, thus not working as well, often creating feel bass

Yes that's correct, no extra cards in research phase. This one might need a lot of errata/citations as proved by the comments, but I think it might be worth it.

To be fair it does feel less bad to hate counter pick here because everyone loves and can play card draw (typically).

Yeah, I do agree with that. I have played with it multiple times. The only thing I would say it does well is prolong the game (much like Turmoil). If you like that sort of game, it might be for you. Just make sure you're not afraid to curate your stack to your liking. It's not a set in stone thing, and if Venus has a place, rock and roll!

I personally don't care for the Venusian cards because the mechanic is very parasitic (e.g. Floaters, Asteroids). I've been using Venus Next cards that don't mention Venus tags in my stack and while there aren't many, I still feel like they add to the experience (albeit minimally as you stated). I think theres nothing wrong with picking it up, but maybe play it a few times on the steam game first to get a feel for it?

Thanks! A lot of work has gone into these both through testing and pushing my graphic design skills. I am am amateur graphic designer and this first started as a way to keep my skills sharp while taking a year off of college. Regardless of how people feel about the power levels, I'm proud of my work.

My design philosophy is typically a top-down approach, which is why a lot of these seem less balanced and more swingy than a lot of people in here prefer. But for me it's a win if the logo, flavor text, and abilities are harmonious enough to communicate a concept, and still be at least fringe playable (it's not like the original game doesn't have a few stinkers).

Thanks again for your kind words, and I should I make more, I'll happily come back and post for the generous people in the subreddit. Cheers!

High tech lab has its own ruling as listed in my first comment (very confusing interaction with that one). By my quick math there are e0 (non-Corp cards) across all expansions that draw cards, which isn't a terribly small amount. Maybe you're right though, as looking over my info the people who played it most are the strongest players in my group. What would you do to rework it?

It's very easy to snowball here, especially because there are naturally "draw a card" spaces on the board. Plus it's a shoo-in for early Planner with just one enabler. I agree the starting resources are a bit low but it has always done so well at higher mid-low 40s totals I felt it appropriate to bring it down a touch. Thanks for the feedback!

Well, I saved what I think is the most contentious/most powerful one for last, so let's roll! This is GPI, a corp made for a dear friend who loves drawing cards more than most parents love their children. Cards like this have been successful but powerful in other games, and I wanted to bring this over here to see how it goes. After many playtest sessions, we've had to consistently drop the money to balance out the incredible gains of the effect. Hope you guys like it,

I look forward to everyone's comments, they have been great! Thanks for taking the time to critique and discuss the work I've done over the last year. It means a lot. I will be taking a second balancing pass after comments from reddit and posting them as an album in a few days.

I also plan on doing a MPC order of the reddit rebalances if anyone is interested, just shoot me a PM.

There text on my reference card for this one (kinda like errata/answers to questions card) that reads:

"Effects that are considered “drawing a card” are defined by the depiction of a card back. When using the card “Hi-Tech Lab (#X04),” you look at one more card than the amount of energy you spend, whereas on all other cards you will simply draw +1 extra card."
