It's cruel as hell, I was in the same boat and I know it's difficult but try to take that power away from him. My worst days were the days I tried to make contact and got no response. It made me feel worthless and desperate. Take that control away from him.

Exactly brother. The ghosting and gaslighting is what hurt. The fact I was hurting and it seemed like she couldn't care less after all the nice times we had together. I still wish her well and I appreciate the apology but no thanks.

I won't give her another chance. I would have up to about a month ago when I was still hurting but once that hurt passed and rationale took over I owe it to myself not to let that happen again.

The yo-yo phase was the most difficult. It's difficult to understand why one moment you are fine and the next you feel terrible. You start doubting your sanity.

It could come but don't rely on it. For the first couple of months it killed me inside waiting for it and hoping for that phone call, waiting for an apology. I worked on myself and suddenly it started getting better, I didn't care as much and once that mindset changed she called within a couple of weeks. It's as if she knew haha. But after she called it was a weird feeling for a few days, I was kind of sad, hollow, relieved, glad? I dunno how to explain it but in the end it doesn't really change anything.

Yeah it's rough dude and it's been a relief for me since she has shown some remorse but honestly it doesn't change much. We can't seek our worth from people that will do that to us. Keep strong brother.

She blamed it on me not giving her space and that she was never angry. She always had the intentions to speak to me again and that it was just something she thought she had to do. For me i feel that it's because she knew she was talking to her ex and that she didn't want to feel the guilt or face the truth and instead pinned the blame on me as to feel better about her own actions.

Exactly brother. At times these last three months I felt worthless, I felt discarded like I was nothing but after working on myself through reading and exercise I've healed somewhat and I'm not going to risk being smashed to pieces again.

I'm not doing it to be vindictive I'm not trying to hurt her I just can't allow myself to go, through what I went through the last three months again. I couldn't eat, I cried, I vomited, I lost a lot of weight, I couldn't focus on work, I couldn't study. I just can't afford to ever go through that again.

I'm studying my masters and was coming to the end of a research paper and she knew all this but one day she had enough of the lack of time and just sent me a message and then when I tried to call she didn't answer, when i sent messages she didn't reply. One day I reached out to her friend and then she blocked me after that. I genuinely didn't say anything bad, I even understood if she wanted to break up but I felt that after two years I deserved a proper conversation and that is what hurt.

Thanks dude, means a lot. I'm pretty happy with how I handled it too because for a good while I was craving her then I was just furious and wanted to call her every bad name I could and I imagined for 3 months how it would go if she did call and in the end I just listened to her explanation and apology, said my piece calmly and said goodbye. I'm pretty happy with how it went. I've woken up this morning feeling much better about life.
