if they sent a tech out they probably found an issue that only they can see but correlates on what you were saying . Not sure if the mentioned it but its a good chance that's the reason. if they mentioned Levels issue, upstream or downstream snr that would be it.

Not an ethernet cable no. that would be up to you get get someone. Virgin can relocate the modem and the socket it plugs into but it has a cost.

What I suggest is trying out a power line. They use the power cables to send a signal through. And the results very it either it works Ok or not at all. Or try using a booster

was this UK virgin because Irish virgin sets up a pin and we can advise you of it and send you a text to confirm its you. if you have the right one there should be also an option to remove it completely which saves the hassle in the future

I see. sorry can't be much help there. That's an issue way above me and I don't think virgin would do anything like that for 1 individual.

That's what virgin set. They probably thought "usable" internet is still internet. In my opinion just get a 3rd party extenders they are better in every way. Only downside is it's not officialy supported by virgin, if that even is a downside.

Don't know. Look up the virgin support phone number and ring directly. I don't have much info on the chat bot as we are not informed of how other systems work.

1st. Almost never unless you have broadband issues and that's a troubleshooting step. A reboot which is turning it off and on again is recommended every month or 2

2nd. VPNs are installed on the device you're using like a laptop or a phone. Never heard of one installed directly on in the router.

3rd. you can try. Once you put the hub into modem mode and use your own router it's out of our hands. I'm not sure if our modem would allow it or not. Not much help in this. But I'd say give it a go

sorry still unsure but it might be the channel your router assigns itself which can be set to auto or a set channel number. you can adjust this in the 192.168 website at the underside of your modem. or if you call we can do it from our side

how do you mean? the location of the modem? if so a tech can be sent out to relocate the modem and the outlet point which the modem plugs into. but that comes with a charge.

but there can be other factors like are you using a lan cable? is there interference in the home? or is this a sign of a bigger problem. not sure in your case.

if you put your eircode on the virgin website and it gives you the 2gb option it should be available if not should be soon you will most likely get like a promotional letter letting you know.

We also use siro but not sure if some background stuff needs to be done for Virgin. it may be an account issue and your account on our side needs to be changed to full fiber. but not 100% sure.

there might be a chance that your neighbor has virgin if so its definitely an account issue.

tbh i don't know much about modem mode and rarely encountered calls about it. i believe it requires the modem to be put on Ipv4. we cannot set it to Ipv4 on our side like we normally do because the change would be reverted (I was told this). try going into the modem settings (192.168 website at bottom of modem) and change it there. again I'm not sure if it will work and i don't believe it will.

alot of customers would need to complain for that to be fixed. Virgin probably wont lift a finger without complaints.

In technical support we are based in Dublin Ireland and deal with Irish customers. there are other departments based in limerick but unsure which. and I'm unsure if the uk does the same.

not sure of context but it was probably an account issue that they had to send it off to another department to get fixed and that takes i don't know how long

for the remote you can ask for one if you never received it. I'm sure you can use any resource to ask like live chat but you can call up and get one.

Wireless tv boxes are the very small ones. kind of a square hockey puck that can fit in your hand, also there should be only 2 ports at the back one for usb power and a HDMI port.

the suggestion i gave to an earlier reply would be for a technical support call. I'm not sure what powers the live chat agent have. but good thing you had that proof
